Tripp Lite’s SmartRack 12U Mid-Depth Rack Enclosure Cabinet is designed to simplify rack equipment installations and rack equipment maintenance. Compatible with all standard 19-inch rack equipment, it features front and rear pairs of vertical rails with square mounting holes. The rails are adjustable in quarter-inch increments to accommodate equipment depths from 3 to 32.5 inches, ideal for standard server installation. The rails are capable of supporting up to 453 kgs (1000 lbs)of equipment. The top and bottom panels are provided with ports for cable routing, and are furnished with vents designed to help remove warm air from the enclosure and draw in cool air by convection. The panels also support installation of standard user-supplied case fans (Tripp Lite SRFANWM). With a locking reversible front/rear doors and locking removable side panels, the SR12UB provides for the safe, secure installation of all equipment. To simplify deployment, the SR12UB comes with an accessory caster kit so it can easily be maneuvered into the desired location, and then secured in place by adjusting the unit’s levelers. It ships fully assembled for quick installation.

Solid constructions but misses the target market. Poor cooling design.
This product is categorized under "wall-mountable" cabinets but I doubt customers are safely wall-mounting even a partially loaded 12U case weighing hundreds of pounds. At best, this cabinet is for space constrained environments like an IDF closet, AV studios, or home theater applications. To that end, it misse

Solid, secure enclosure, with the room for a server
This worked out perfectly to house a server and large UPS in a wiring closet for remote replication. The depth of the cabinet makes it perfect for mounting server depth hardware.

The biggest flaw in this cabinet is the cooling. Mesh panels on the sides of the cabinet allow air to flow haphazardly in every direction. Hot/cold air separation is impossible unless the mesh panels on the sides are blocked. Tripplite would do well to offer solid side panels. While there are port holes on the top of the cabinet for a a fan kit which can be purchased separately, at 50dB per fan, it's clearly intended for datacenter or unattended usage. Note: these port holes are milled to support 120mm fans but are ideally used with 140mm fans with 120mm mounting holes in order to prevent air gaps around the port hole. Similar cabinets by competitors offer air filters and noise dampening. None of that is offered with the Tripplite 12U cabinet. The construction is solid and there is ample room in the case but Tripplite would do better to research their market and release a revision of this product.
