Rated 5 out of 5 by from Piece of junk! I bought this a couple of months ago from B&H Photo and it keeps breaking down: Air Printer Can't be Found; Paper Inside Doesn't Exist; I'm On Lunch Break! What a Worthless Machine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frustrating Printer The touch screen is barley usable. It often misreads what I am trying to select. For the life of me I can't figure out how to print with low ink. I'm wasting tons of time trying to print. I hate this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DON'T BUY THIS PRINTER Not sure where to start, this printer is horrible and unreliable. It prints from some of our devices some of the time with no consistency whatsoever. The menu pad doesn't pick what you are trying to push and its extremely difficult to navigate through. I called the award winning service team but hung up after being alerted that it would be a 45 minute wait:(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horrible color quality I was expecting so much from this printer, especially for the price. Color print quality is simply bad. No other way to put it. I have tried all types of adjustments and settings and color is totally irregular, inconsistent and streaky. Don’t even think about printing a photo! I can’t un-recommend this enough!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile but ultimately unreliable We have used this unit as the primary printer in our office for the last 2.5 years. It has broad functionality. Until recently, the biggest complaint I had about it was that the touch screen seems out of calibration (requiring numerous touches to hit the right spot for the desired command. Recently, we developed a consistent print defect that we have determined is coming from the fuser. With no way to easily access the fuser, our printer has become a boat anchor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer We're well past 3 years with this MFD, and it's been great. Consumables are a bit pricy, but no more than other laser printers, and I only use Canon toner. Color printing is remarkable, and the output is very fast, even wirelessly from iPhone. This printer gets medium-heavy use, and we print everything - heavy bond paper, labels, envelopes (standard and custom sizes, thin paper, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great All-In-One Printer This is a great all-in-one printer. It might be an overkill though for just random printing as a home/family printer - but I love it and for me thats what it is for because I wanted something that can do it all, and this is it. Pros - I like the fact that many of settings can be done through a browser/PC. - Very Fast and easy to do all operations - Ability to scan to a paper, email, or computer shared drive - All-In-One - Both wireless and Ethernet port. - I am happy with toner consumption with my usage Cons - Touchpad control screen could be better or a little more responsive. - Laser Toner is expensive just like any other printers. - Requires a bit of technical knowledge to Configure Fax - Heavy. - Cannot feed entire paper rim at once. Only half.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from printer & support This mf 733 printer failed after 2 years. Canon support told me that they were sending a replacement and I could simply swap out the 4 toner cartridges I had recently purchased. To my shock, they send me a MF 743 cdw replacement and the cartridges are incompatible. Subsequently, they sent me the proper cartridges, so they did the right thing so they are to be commended because customer support is still alive at Canon Hurray !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never buy a Canon product again This is the worst printer I have ever owned. The print is streaky with brand new factory cartridges. The control panel is in an awkward position and the controls are counter intuitive. I have to ask why this ever got approved for shipping to customers. What a disappointment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a nightmare I curse this printer every single day. The feeder doesn't work most of the time for scanning. I have to turn the printer off and on frequently to make it work. Every week I am reinstalling the driver to make this stupid printer work. Please come up with a better driver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OK Printer, Bad Drivers I have this printer now for 2 years and I have mixed reviews. The printer is ok, the print quality is ok. The drivers are the worst. Each time I have to shut dow the printer, Windows can't detect it. This might be a MS problem, but for me this is Canon's drivers fault. Really annoying. Never again I'll use a Canon Printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best printer i ever bought. Bought mine in 2018 and still using the starter cartridges it came with! To print on low toner, touch status monitor lower right corner and then touch error notification/information. Then touch continue printing. I basically just use the copy scan and print but i know the FAX works if i need it. Most Canon printers have banding. This one doesnt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally sprung for a real printer Having been a long time Canon printer owner, I decided it was time to make the switch to laser instead of buying another multi-function inkjet for business uses. I have had this for a few weeks now and am pleased with what it is able to do. As others have said this is a heavy beast of a printer. I actually like that. What really sold me on this printer over other small business class MF printers is its compatibility with mobile devices running Windows 10. Pros: * Set up was very simple * No bulky software required to print * Simple Wireless set up, just needed to select the Wi-Fi and enter the password * Easy to select print options * Print from USB great * Scan and send email * Price and value (bought it on sale * Drivers easy to install Areas where I still need to get smarter than the "toy": * "toner life" left * security functions Cons: * The toner cartridges are very expensive but in taking the time to really look, I found these cartridges come out to be the same cost or cheaper than the other viable MF printer options. * I really wanted NFC printing but it only works with Android/iOS apps. This was a big disappointment but there are other options. * Photo printing is not as good as my inkjets, but I have a photo inkjet just for printing photos. This has always been a limitation of laser printers. With that said, I am really pleased with the color images in my printed documents, REALLY pleased. So at the end of all of this, I really like the printer and I would recommend it, especially for those with Windows Mobile devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Package, Awesome Value Disclaimer: I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. Firstly, this printer offers a great package right out of the box, and for a very reasonable price. Arriving at my door with plenty of ink, a quick and easy assembly, a smooth printing process, and a very good printed page rate of about 28 sheets per minute. Offering a TON of different ways to connect as well, via wired or wireless, certainly makes this printer a wonderful asset for my small business. My favorite feature: wireless printing. In the age of smart phones and tablets, and wires becoming a thing of the Stone Age, it wouldn't really make sense to manufacture a printer without wireless printing, or "air printing" as we Mac people might say. Canon cleared the bar big time with this guy. Offering Mac, PC and Android-friendly wireless connectivity, the MF733Cdw provides solutions to the headaches of the last generation of printers. This is a big deal in 2018. Clear instructions? Check. The set-up time is always streamlined for those with tech-tendencies, but I, being not nearly one of those types, still did not struggle to navigate through the instructions. Assembly was just EASY! Bring a friend to lift it with you though! This is a heavy box, with uncomfortable dimensions for one person to handle. I was more or less expecting an IKEA sort of experience... some assembly required. Nothing too challenging here, however. As for comparisons... Canon has reaffirmed their place in my mind as a top manufacturer of printers, large and small. I've worked with a number of other brands, and enjoyed certain features among them; but Canon really does offer a "peace of mind" of user-friendliness and reliability, and a darn-good balance of technology and value. For the amount of time I've spent with it, the MF733Cdw looks like it's going to last. My expectation of quality is higher for a Canon than with the other brands. I've heard complaints that the touchscreen can be a bit "off" in terms of button accuracy - probably the only thing that I can see as a legitimate opportunity for improvement. I never have high expectations with touch screens though, even with my top of the line smart phone. Improvements that I might make? For the money you're paying, there isn't a lot to pick apart here, as the value of this printer really is awesome. Folks might be shocked by the "all in" price of replacing toner cartridges. I'll give you a hint, it's more than a few hundred dollars. To my mind, I would think they could do something about the weight of this device: it felt like a hundred pounds. Turns out, it was around 50 pounds. I'm hoping that's just a sign of quality materials though! It does seem to be built like a tank. In closing, I think it's fair to say that this printer is an absolutely value-packed workhorse for the small office. From the time I've spent with it, the images are beautifully printed, with little time to stand around waiting for them. With every connection available under the sun, I could see this being a great household printer as well. You really can print from just about anywhere in the house. And again, the startup cost is VERY LOW, considering what all comes in the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT PERFORMER AHEAD OF THE REST I have had many integrated printers over the course of thirty years and the WF733CDW has out performed all of the All-In-One's I have owned. My only challenge was to carefully read all of the written instructions Canon provides on their web-site. Instructions are very comprehensive and well written. I have used all of the basic functions without any issues (after I read the instructions). Wonderful features and sufficient capacities for my demands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Legal-Sized Paper Doesn't fit fully in Drawer So far, a good printer, but the legal sized paper does not fit into the drawer, so an apparent make-shift dust cover goes over the partially opened drawer, which looks like the design was not finished. As a result, dust and everything else can get into the drawer, creating a maintenance issue going forward. I wish I had known this before buying, as most of our printing is legal-sized. A larger machine with a door that can fully close with legal-sized paper would have been a much better option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good 4-In-1, But, Could Be Better. Purchased the MF733Cdw to be used at my Church. While our device hasn't experienced any of the issues discussed in other reviews, there are a few observations worth noting. The 733/735 look very similar to the HP MFP M477 line of multi-function units. Their specs are very similar as well. This leads me to believe that they are produced by a common contract manufacturer. The latches to the inside flip down access door for the toner drawer do not hold the door securely. I'm afraid that they would suffer damage if someone accidentally grabs it when flipping down the front cover to access the aux paper supply tray. I have secured the inside cover with two pieces of white electrical tape. Documentation. As others have noted, the supplied user information is lacking. I had to refer to a YouTube video to learn how to set the machine up to send scanned material via Email. I was able to figure out how to setup fax capabilities however. The quality of printed material is about what I expected from machines in this price range. While certainly better than the output of the Canon MF8180c that it replaced, it doesn't match well when compared to units costing 3 to 4 times as much (which is to be expected. Noise levels aren't excessive and print speed is ok (compared to the 8180c, it is lightning quick). I would like to see manufacturers of printers start to add the ability to access 5.0G WiFi bands as opposed to staying restricted to the 2.4G bands. Because our 733 is serving as a secondary device (backs up a Kyocera TASKalfa 2552ci), it does not see high usage. For what is expected of it...the 733 does its job well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice office color printer I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion Unpacking: While bulky, this printer can be setup by one person, but I would highly recommend having a helper when unpacking. There are diagrams on the boxes to show how to properly removing the printer from the packing and they are quite helpful. Setup: This product is fairly easy to setup. I used both the provided setup CD and downloaded the driver from the Canon website. I had to use both methods as one of my computers doesn`t have a CD/DVD drive. The CD setup was much faster and easier as there are several drivers available on Canon`s website and it was a bit confusing on which one to use. The wireless connection was very easy to setup and I connected my phone as well so I could print from it. Speed: This printer is very fast. I`ve used other laser printers from small sizes to very large and this printer has exceeded my expectations for speed. I print a lot of my documents double sided and with the ability to print on both sides without having to reload paper or lose much time has greatly improved my efficiency. Quality: I print numerous charts and graphs and it is important to me to have clear and crisp images so my colleagues and clients can easily see what I am explaining. I have seen this as a problem on other laser printers with streaking and inkjet printers with splotching. All of my documents were very clear and easy to read. Sound: This is a pretty quiet printer. I have used larger printers before that were much louder and could be heard throughout the office but this one would be great to have directly at someone`s desk if the need was there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hardware Great product. It's relatively easy to setup. However, it helps to remove all of your old print software and drivers before adding the new ones. It's also helpful to discard the CD that comes with the equipment. The software and drivers on the CD were already out of date. Save yourself some time and just download the software and drivers directly from the Canon website. Be sure the files you download are approximately the same size as the files indicated on the website. If you're download was interrupted, you may need to discard and download again. I was unable to find the instructions for networking the stand alone scanner. It was only through a process of trial and error that I was able to figure out that not only the TX required SMTP settings, but that the Port had to be changed. The fact that they are not together and that the provided manual gives no details is unnecessarily frustrating. Otherwise, this imageCLASS mf733 seems to be built just as well as my last imageCLASS D760, which lasted over 12 years and was still in fine working condition when I donated it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many problems Keeps losing connection on our network, have had numerous problems with toner streaking and splattering -- just a really bad printer. Worked well for a few months then it just started having all these issues with it. I've spent so much time trying to troubleshoot this printer, and Canon support never really helped me any more than just googling around for solutions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible TOner life is near Zero, we are always changing toner. The digital keypad for selection is a nightmare, takes way too long to change one simple thing. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised at the number of Negative Reviews I have used many printers over the span of several years, from inkjets to lasers; from Epson, Brother to HP. The color laser printer has been especially the hardest to appreciate, with spotty performance and less than satisfying printing results each time. I decided to go for this Canon printer mainly because of its double-sided scan and copy capability, and I was not expecting too much from it. But so far, it's been the best printer I have ever used, both performance and output-wise. Setup was easy and WiFi connection has been great so far. Therefore, I am very surprise to see so many negative reviews. In fact, I bought another one for my HR manager and I have not had a single complaint from her either, unlike a previous printer from another brand I purchased for her. Either some folks just got bad units (as there is always a small percentage of defects from very production run) or Canon has had major failures with its quality control on this model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Users need to learn about it before reviewing it! I have had this printer for 6months and I love it!. I have owned Canon, Epson, HP, Brother printers and this is a great printer. Setup takes less than an hour to program the (scan to e-mail function, fax settings, paper handling, user options and wireless network). When the printer is setup properly the results are amazing. I print my own bottle labels, brochures, business cards, and other media for my business. This printer saves me so much money by allowing me to create all of these products from home. My kids love that they can print from their phones and the prints are done before they even get to the printer to pick up their photos. If you can operate a smart phone then you can setup this printer the right way and enjoy all of its great features. Do miss out on a great printer due to some reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Printer! I've had this printer for three months and between my wife and me, we work it fairly hard. Wireless network setup was a snap and it has functioned flawlessly! I see some reviews discussing slow response, but I suggest those folks don't have their networks optimized.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value!!!! I owned a Xerox Phaser 6280DN for ten years. The lack of wireless networking became too much to bear, so I finally had to surrender to find a replacement. After reading many reviews I decided to buy the Canon MF733Cdw because it seemed to offer the best cost/features/quality ratio on the market. The printer is heavy, but to me, I'm a bit old-school and I associate heavy with quality......something solid. The footprint is fine and fits perfectly on my credenza (see photo. I am puzzled too by the negative reviews. Set-up was super easy! It found my network in a snap, I was able to easily print from my MacBook Air, HP Windows Work laptop, iPhone, my wife's iPhone and her Lenovo Windows work laptop, upon first attempt...no issues whatsoever...very compatible across platfroms. The printer is wicked fast compared to my Xerox. I would say, however, compared to my Xerox, even though the Canon is heavy, when opening and closing doors and lifting the lid, the world doesn't build'em like they used to. Shareholder value seems to eclipse quality every time. I wanted to give it 4 stars on that alone, that it just doesn't feel as well built as something from 10 years ago. When I pull open and close my old Xerox paper drawer, it's solid and strong, but for printer this I say to myself, "better not be too rough or too fast....it might break" but on its own merit, it deserve 5 stars......great price on sale at a national retailer, wireless, wicked fast printing across all platforms, real duplex, scanner, copier, etc......great bank for the buck....here are your 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic, fast and easy set-up I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion.  Assembly and Set-up: Right out of the box, I was immediately impressed with the Canon ImageCLASS MF733Cdw`s very easy set-up process. I was able to get it up and running in about 10 minutes. Connecting to my home wifi was seamless and connecting my Mac and my iPhone to the printer was incredibly simple. I was able to print documents and photos from my phone immediately.  Print Quality: I printed different types of documents to test out the capabilities of the Canon ImageCLASS. Black text and lines were crisp and clear, which I find to be the most important quality in laser printers. I made a duplicate of a color pamphlet I received in the mail, and the colors were spot on. If it weren`t for the creases from the pamphlet, it would have looked almost identical. I printer a few photos as well, which came out fine, but not as rich as I would like. However, I don`t anticipate using the Canon imageCLASS much for photos anyway. Color PowerPoint presentations looked vivid in my prints. Pros: I`ve been very impressed with the speed of printing. Everything from basic single-sided text to double-sided color-intensive documents/photos were complete in less than 5 seconds. The machine is also relatively quiet when printing, which for a machine this size is impressive. The touch screen is large enough and easy to use. I was impressed with the touch screen`s response to my fingers. There was no visible lag, and I normally do not like typing in my e-mail address in these. The best feature I found was the single pass double-sided copying/scanning. It`s very convenient and very quick. I also enjoy being able to monitor toner levels through my phone. Problems: While the main set-up was easy, I am still having problems having the Canon imageCLASS send scans to my e-mail address.  Overall: The Canon ImageCLASS MF733Cdw is a great all-in-one color laser printer that work well for home-office and office use. The easy set-up and instant Wi-Fi connectivity makes it very useful out of the box and easy for multiple people to use immediately. The quality and speed of prints are exceptional and its simple user interface makes it a great addition to a small-medium sized company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canon Color Image 733 I bought this color printer a month ago & so far it’s running great. The bad part is that the replacement color carriages cost more than the printer, so when the toner runs out it’s cheaper to buy new printer than replace the carriages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Printer for Small Business I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. It handles the workload necessary for my small business in which I had multiple users using the printer on a daily basis for the last two weeks. The printer is not extremely fast but the quality of the print both color prints and black and white had really good prints. I like the scan feature that allows it to be uploaded to computer, sent via email, usb, or fax. I used that quite frequently and made my life much easier. The instructions were easy to follow and even provided the appropriate way to remove the box and stickers which I had never seen on a printer. As well as tags to not connect the USB before installing the driver. Which I thought was very The product was very easy to assemble. It took me a total of about 10 minutes and that is including the time it took me to install the driver on to my main computer. If I would improve anything it would be to increase the speed of the top tray. Our previous copier was able to move slightly faster than this canon. Overall, I think it is a great printer for my small business and can carry the workload of several employees including myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it is supposed to, but ... I bought this MF several months ago for home office. My old MF LJ WiFI died so I needed a new machine. I picked based this on price (sale at Best Buy. I don't need nor want fax, but do want scanner and color laser printer. I am a low volume printer. However, unlike really expensive ink cartridges that dry out and become useless after a few months of low volume printing LJ toner lasts about forever. The net cost of ownership is less for the LJ, and you're unlikely to discover you need ink in the middle of a print job. With that said ... After a few short months I noticed a black grid array appearing on every page. I tried all of the maintenance options. No luck. After two ignored emails to tech support I called them on the phone. Yes, they are native English speakers, and quite knowledgeable. Long story short the tech determined the black toner cartridge was defective and sent me a replacement. Thank you for that. Problem solved, until I tried color printing. Then I got the same grid in red. I called tech support and provided the Case ID. Long story short (ran all the maintenance tests possible) the tech informed me that I had "starter" cartridges (printed right on each cartridge), and that they had something wrong, but that starter cartridges aren't covered under warranty. So after a few hundred pages (probably 200-300) the starter cartridges turned to junk. Plan to perhaps spend a lot of money replacing the starter cartridges fairly soon after buying. The unit is more than I need, however that is not a negative. The touch screen offers a lot of options, which is good. My only complaint is it is a bit problematic for big hands. The scanner interface is a bit clunky. However I am on a Mac, so perhaps that has something to do with Mac versus Windows. But the scanner works well. Not complaints there. Would I recommend to a friend? Yes but with the caveat about the starter cartridges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money We bought this printer in late 2017 to replace an HP printer that is dying. We have had a million issues with it. Like others said, the touch screen is terrible - often completely unresponsive to the touch no matter how you touch (soft or hard). I can't scan from the printer: I have to put the pages on the platen, and then go to my computer to use the scan utility - instead of just putting papers in the printer, pushing "scan" on the touchscreen, and selecting my computer as the destination. Printing photos is a nightmare - the multipurpose paper feeder doesn't pull photo paper, can't ePrint from my iPhone, etc. Tried to print our Christmas envelopes and after the first 5 envelopes the addresses came out double printed and smeared. I have spent many, many hours trying to problem solve and finally conclude it's just a terrible printer. Get something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer, scans/prints/copies delightfully! I purchased this printer from Best Buy about six months ago, and I must say that I love it! No problems at all! I just changed the toner for the first time and it was quite easy. I would recommend the high capacity toner though. I do a significant amount of color printing for flyers and what not and this little machine keeps turning out beautiful pages. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not recommended I bought this in November 2017. There is a musty odor in the main cabinet. They sent a replacement, same odor. Now it is printing stray dots on print-outs and cleaning does not help. Don't waste your money on one of these, or any Canon Printer for that matter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BradT I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. Set up could not have been easier, the box comes apart in such a way that allows you to place it where you want the copier to be, and leave it there. There was a ton of tape on it holding the moving parts in place for transit, but those were easily removed in a few minutes. Once I plugged it in, I was connected to my wireless network in under 30 seconds by holding down the WPS button on my router. We are using it primarily for printing from wireless devices such as phones and tablets. Images are picture quality good. Scanning was easy. Have not used it to fax much - since who really faxes these days? - but I will eventually test out the fax features once I set up my efax on the machine. On the downside, there is not much functionality in the manual that it comes with. Mostly just initial physical setup. I am the type who like to read about everything prior to turning it on. however, all of this information can be found on Canon`s website. Overall I am very happy with the printer. Great product for a small business.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. After receiving the printer I was initially very surprised by the size and weight of the product. Having a small business I already had a number or printing solutions in my shop but nothing the size of this beast. From unboxing to initial set up was all very effortless. The quality of the product looks very good. Wireless set up was simple and actually worked the first time. I was up and printing in no time and have not had to think much more about it since. That is all I can really ask for from a office printer. Provides a very nice color laser image and is very fast. I imagine it will provide years of great service

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wireless Disconnection I recently purchased the Canon Image Class MF 731 Cdw. It is my second Canon printer - my first was the MX 492 Pixma. I thought I would try a toner-based printer and save money on cartridges. I have called Canon's IT support 3x in the last 7 days. The printer prints for one day and then not the next; constantly loses its wireless connection without warning and for not obvious reason and the problem is not the router since other devices maintain the internet connection well-- without any issue. It is quite disappointing. Furthermore, there is no way to get assistance on the weekend--must wait until Monday to call yet again. Each call is not less than 1 hour. I am thinking of returning the printer--it's quite large and it prints inconsistently due to the random wireless disconnection issue. Disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Getting to Know It... This printer seems to fit my home office needs. Canon's color laser cost per page is (supposedly below average. So far so good on the print quality, speed and features, although the Scan utility could be better. I'm used to using ScanTango for my Fujitsu scanner. There doesn't seem to be a better after-market software equivalent for Canons. It is large and heavy though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useless If it wasn't so heavy I would drag it to curb I bought this model June 22,2018 and since that date I've had 5 conversations with Canon about the fax function. It's not even 5 months! First it wouldn't receive any faxes, that was two conversations. Then if the phone connected to the fax was used for a call the fax would kick in and disconnect the call another two conversations. Now the fax will not send OR receive faxes! If the machine wasn't so heavy I would seriously drag it down the stairs and leave it at the curb! Instead yesterday I bought a cheap multi-function printer just to have the fax machine. Now I have two multi-function printers in my office...one of them was clearly a huge waste of money and time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nope. I was looking for a replacement for a Brother printer because the cost of replacing toner and parts was more than a new printer. I settled on the MF733Cdw and was initially pleased with my decision. When it came time to replace my first cartridge, I bought a Canon 046 cartridge from my local office supply. At the time, the color cartridges were still at 50%. Once I put the new cartridge in, the color cartridges immediately dropped to 10%. Worse, the new black cartridge has supposedly used 50% of the cartridge in two weeks, which is impossible as I haven't printed more than a couple of hundred pages. I also have to say that the printer has the worst touch screen I have ever encountered. If you are buying this printer as an alternative to some other product, I doubt you will find what you were looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really nice MFC Very good quality, fastish prints. Easy copy feature. Scanner works great now that i figured it out. This part is super tricky, and took a lot of trouble shooting. I could not get it to scan to a mac, but once i remembered there was a PC on my network, it works great. I could not get it to scan to email. Otherwise i would have given it 5 stars. Can say anything about the fax. Sorry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great workhorse solution for a home office Recently started my own business working from home. I was used to the powerhouse Toshiba Printer/Scanner machines that you see everywhere in large offices. After nearly a year of use I can say this machine is excellent and gives me the features I wanted. Speed was important, as was print quality and I also very much wanted the ability to use the scanner stand alone without having to go through a computer interface. This unit handles everything just like I wanted. I do have a setup tip if you end up getting this unit. Don't connect it to your computer via USB, just log it onto your network then open a browser window to the IP address it has on your network. Just hit the login button with no credentials should let you right in, then configure your settings that way. Once set up you'll be able to walk up to the unit, hit the address book and scan documents to anyone in your address book, boom done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hmmm....... I just got the MF733Cdw set up and calibrated and working. Excellent setup. Quick and easy. Prints fine. Okay here goes. The Canon MF Scan Utility is the BIGGEST JOKE I have EVER seen for software!!! What in the world people??? This is just disgusting. No way to correct the image before scanning except for the "Black & White" setting ONLY. I CANNOT use this software! Next, after trying several scans, it finally decided to scan EVERYTHING as a BLACK page!!! That is both using ADF and directly on the glass. So far I haven't been able to fix it. That being said, the normal computer based scanner driver, i.e. Preview (on a Mac) works fine, but haven't tried to see if 2-sided scanning works on it. It may not. I am beginning to consider returning this unit, and getting something entirely different. I am trying to fix the black page issue. If it doesn't fix, will contact tech support. Will update review as we proceed. At this time, since Preview will scan and printing seems just fine, I am going to recommend this but that MIGHT change.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Networking functionality challenging If for whatever reason my wireless network goes out and it is restored the printer goes offline. There is no easy way to have the printer restored, it shows a new IP address. Other than this annoyance, the printer works fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A hit in the office I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I work in a small office(8 people whose printing needs are high, especially at days end. Everyone seems to wait to print reports at the same time. We have been utilizing a few smaller all in one printers for the past few years and it has been bogging us down causing a lot of inefficiency and frustration. Since the upgrade to the Canon ImageClass MF733Cdw we`ve gotten rid of all but one of those printers(one co-worker wont let go). One printer is now basically doing the work of multiple and in less time. Why did we wait so long? Most popular are the wireless connectivity options. It works surprisingly well from both our smartphones or computers. Setting this up was painless and quick. All connectivity and software has been fairly intuitive and easy to set up to our liking. Even for the least tech savvy in the office. The larger touch screen is nice and impressive looking(at least compared to what we had before). It keeps up pretty well. Not as responsive as a smartphone screen as it`ll miss a tap here and there but thats not much of an inconvenience especially since I`m initiating print jobs over my laptop or phone for the most part anyway. Printing both in black and white and color is fast and of high quality. Scans quickly and everything we`ve scanned so far has looked comparable to the original document. We haven`t had the printer long enough to say much about the changing of toner and ink but it looks like its as easy as sliding the tray out and just dropping a new cartridge in. I`ve been pleased with the ink economy. It could be awhile(I hope) before we need to change a cartridge out. My main gripe is the paper tray capacity. Not great in my opinion for a printer this large. Being able to print wirelessly is great unless you have to walk over to the printer and reload the tray. Minor inconvenience but a surprising oversight considering everything else with this printer was really well thought out. Still, holds probably a few hundred pages, but not a large stack. Has a solid build and prints fairly quietly without rattling.Overall everyone in the office is very happy with this product. No one seemed too intimidated by it or has had any issues up to this point. Even caught the guy hanging on to one of our old printers using the new Canon the other day. The office cat especially loved the large box it came in so I can confidently say everyone is more than satisfied with this new printer, box and all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Reliable Wish I could say I liked this printer. For 6 months it worked well, printing about 350 pages. It then started printing a small red dash in the same horizontal spot every inch or so. After troubleshooting with support, I was told the magenta toner cartridge was faulty and needed to be replaced. Although the printer was only 6 months old and the cartridge was showing 80% full, I had to replace it at my own expense as the cartridge is only under warranty for 30 days. Of course the cost of a set of toner is more than the cost of a new printer. I didn't expect to have to do this this soon. At the rate I print, the toner should have lasted me 3 or 4 years. I came very close to just throwing the machine away but instead replaced the cartridge. If it happens again, its time to replace printer. I wouldn't recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing but problems I hate this printer. When it works it does a great job but it's been one problem after another. Now it suddenly lost its wireless connection for no apparent reason and cannot be reconnected. All the on board stuff says it's connected to the wireless network fine but there is not a single computer in the home that sees the printer. Initial setup was just as horrible and took >10 hours. In 15 years I never had this kind of issues with Brother printers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, but heavy I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. The printer arrived and it is quite large. The graphics to unbox were easy to follow. However, there is one piece leftover that I have yet to find instructions on where to install. The printer is larger and heavier than I expected and was not able to place it in the position of my existing printer. I connected via Ethernet and the router assigned an IP address. I was able to ping the printer interface from a computer. Installed the software on a computer and connected to the printer right away. The MF733Cdw prints well in color and black and white, from wired and wireless devices. Speed is fine as are the resolution of the documents. However, scanning a book from the platen, yielded unclear copies. Scanning documents from the platen is fine. Scanning color documents through the document feeder is fine. Printing from a smartphone was effortless. The Remote UI utility connects directly to the printer and enables administrative/system management functions. e.g. Department IDs, Network, Cartridge status, Job Log. Downside: the touchscreen is unresponsive at times; had to depress buttons several times for it to engage. This was annoying. Overall, I like the Canon imageCLASS MF733Cdw and satisfied with the build quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Printer I bought the Color imageCLASS MF733Cdw on November 13, 2018 and received it on November 15, 2018 and am satisfied with the purchase I made. Separating the box from the printer was easy to do. I was able to lift the multi-function printer from the packing materials and on to the printer cart. The setup procedures was easy to do except connecting the MF733Cdw on the network, because I have been unfamiliar with connecting peripherals on the WiFi network. I had to call Verizon to obtain my network name and the password. Once I learned them, then it was easy to connect the MF733Cdw to the network. Installing the software from the DVD to the computer was easy. Printing was flawless. The print quality is excellent. Text output is outstanding. Some pictures print amazingly clear. In case a toner cartridge becomes low on toner, that toner cartridge is easy to replace. Even a user who is less technology savvy can open the door, slide the cartridges tray backward and lift up the cartridge with ease and finesse. Canon products are dependable and reliable. I expect the imageCLASS MF733Cdw to last for many years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer Quality I purchased my printer in November 2018 and did not have time to setup due to fulltime work and school and needed a good stand for the size and weight. Christmas (2018 purchased a stand, set up printer and it is awesome. Easy install, quality printing, color and black & white. Connected to my FIOS network, easy. I do not waste paper for school, so the duplex printing is amazing. It is big and heavy, worth the money. I want to print pictures and have not had the time and hope I receive quality prints. I will update later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything in One Place MF733cdw. Wow! Nice device. Used at my home office. Great color copies, scans great to save or email, send/receive fax. Great update on the MF Scan Utility software interface too. Very happy with this printer. And I looked at many competing brands. I was tired of my inkjet printer and endless problems with ink cartridges drying up, not spraying right, etc.

Strange user interface to set printer features and use address book. Most disgusitng is the smell when you open the lid to do platen scanning ... overwhelimg musty / mildew smell. Even exchanged the printer for a different one but same smell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from waiting on file The touch screen barely works and it will not print from multiple devices. Sometimes it will print from one computer, then will not print from the second computer in the house. It gets stuck and says "waiting on file". It has been doing this since we got it, with no solution. When I do get it to print from the 2nd computer, it will not print from a phone or 1st computer. Or sometimes it will print from either computer, but not from certain programs, like Word.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should never have replaced very old, yet still functional printers Since the first day it has been a mess. Should have boxed it up and sent it back. The printed colors are not close to what is on the screen, dog ears scanned papers, pulls multiple pages at a time when scanning, intermittently doesn't recognize my laptop, finicky touchscreen. My much cheaper other brand home printer prints more accurately, and does a better job than this much more expensive business printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Severely disappointed! I bought an imageCLASS MF733Cdw last week. It wouldn't print envelopes. I called your award winning customer service and, after 48 minutes, was disconnected. I called again and waited 1 hour and 40 minutes to speak with someone. Fortunately, he was very knowledgeable and fixed my problem immediately. Now, still in the first week of having my printer, my scans and copies have several vertical lines in them. Unbelievable. Nothing on the forums tells me what to do, and I don't want to spend another two hours waiting for customer service. I might box it up and send it back. Oh, and it dog ears the documents that you are trying to copy or scan. I am quite disappointed.
