Connecting USB with the traditional RS-232 serial port, this adapter connects cellphones, PDAs, digital cameras, modems, or ISDN terminal adapters through your USB port. Has a data transfer rate of over 230 kbps. Since the adapter uses no IRQs, there are no IRQ conflicts, and it is ideal for when you need many serial devices attached to your PC. Frees your RS-232 port for other uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 byTony from Does not work with 64-bit Windows 7This cable/driver installs properly but my 64-bit system cannot connect to any devices through it. Apparently this is a problem with cables from other mfg.s as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 byIrritated from Did Not WorkI purchased this UART converter cable to connect to two new HP 1950 12XGT switches via their console ports. It will not connect from my laptop to either of them, connecting this adapter cable to the serial to RJ45 console cable that came with the devices.I cannot say that the adapter cable is bad, because it might just be an HP serial cable pinning issue, so I will not return it. Hopefully that is the case, because if I knew the cable was bad for sure, I would return it. Since serial connections are SO obsolete, I have nothing to test this cable with, so I am stuck I guess.
