What a Racket
I recommend finding another brand printer since their printers require the toner/drum is replaced at certain time period regardless of the number of copies/prints have been run. In our case, we use the TN 223 tiner catridges. Brother says the print cartridges are good for up 1400 prints, however they have some sort of program in the printer that sets a time period when the printer requires the cartridges to be replaced, even though we have not nearly printed an amount even close to the 1400. We are a small church, so at most we are printing 40 pages,double sided a week. The drums are integrill to each toner cartridge. We only have been using black toner for printing, yet when the preset time established in the printer has been reached where it states the drum requires replacement, we have to replace all color cartridges, regardless if they have been used and the cartridges is still full of toner. Learned this directly from the Brothers customer service, when I tried just replacing the black cartridges.
What a racket...all to line their pockets and have no concern about the planet. Nice in some cases when they provide a return lable for the "used" cartrideges to be sent back...wonder what they do when they receive full cartridges back?

Brother asks, but they do not give
Purchased the printer new in early 2020, ordered replacement toner through Amazon to get genuine toner from Brother. Every print has been a blurred mess. I quit using due to quality. Based on pandemic, I just started trouble shooting. Followed Brother guidelines, they all point to a faulty toner cartridge. I start looking for support and "based on pandemic and weather" I am asked to be patient. I look to return, and they have a hard return policy. Apparently we cannot expect Brother to be patient with customers "based on pandemic and weather". This will be my first and last Brother purchase

Get over it people
I am sorry, but I came here to get constructive reviews for this printer and toner. But I see that first thing is people complaining about supply. Do you realize we are in a pandemic which impacts everyone. Every supply chain on the planet has been impacted (remember the toilet paper shortage. These supply chains are run by people, people that are susceptible to COVID like the rest of us. These companies need to take care of their people which usually means a slow down of production. If your bosses and teachers can't understand that things can't be printed please explain this to them and ask them if they are willing to accept electronic submissions.

Black ink everywhere
I got this printer a few months ago and the black ink is leaking and leaving black/grey smears all over my pages. I am obviously going to try replacing the toner, but on a new machine this is ridiculous....and the support section of brother is impossible to navigate and actually talk to anyone.

HATE TO BUY BUT WHAT CHOICE DO I HAVE
I paid so much for the printer I don't want to buy another but it's buying a new one or suffer from horrible black smudging and spots all over my papers.
The initial toner was great, my replacement is terrible, smudging, black spots. I have to take it out and clean it before I print copies I need for work. Now, it's time for me to replace and what choice do I have but to buy more toner from Brother. I love my printer but why should I keep it when I can't have quality prints due to the black toner issue. Very unhappy

NO SUPPLY SUPPORT!
I too bought my printer about 2 months ago. Black toner is completely out so now I cannot print ANYTHING! I bought this printer for business purposes. I am crippled with this out of stock black toner issue. Not only is it out of stock and brother, you cannot get it at Staples, Best Buy, Walmart in several towns!!!

Poor Quality Control
I purchased the HL-L3270CDW printer in November of 2020 and it was fine for the first three weeks. Then small black dots, a little over an inch apart, began to appear on the right side of each page. Gradually, these dots became more pronounced, then black splotches began to appear at random, and the whole page had a gray tint to it. I am obviously going to have to replace the cartridge and clean out the toner from the printer--a thankless task. My concern is that the reviews on this site and on the sites for Best Buy and Office Depot, indicate that this is a common recurring problem with the Brother cartridges. Brother needs to step up and fix this issue.

Garbage
Every person who has reviewed this printer and ink cartridge reports the ink on drum issue after changing the toner with an oem toner. I've cleaned the drum multiple times and the problem persists. This product should be recalled.

Printing way too dark
I got this printer a few months ago and there are black/grey smears all over the pages. Ridiculous that everyone else is having the same problem. I am now going to have to buy a new cartridge when this one isn't even out.

Terrible page quality after replacing toner
I recently replaced the black toner for the first time. After ten pages every page comes out with black specks everywhere. In some areas the background is so dark you can't read the text.

Prints Terrible
After printing about 75 pages it printed black smudges and lines with every page. I used the recommended cleaning techniques several times to no avail. I see several others have the same problem. I have had several Brother printers in the past and they worked fine. This one was a waste of time and money.

Great printer no problems
I have had this printer for a couple years (or so. Have had no problems with print quality and I print a lot. Have recommended it to a couple of other folks who have had no issues with it. With any precision product like this make sure you don't use aftermarket toners as they could ruin the printer for you.

Please don’t buy this Printer
We bought this printer during the pandemic and surprisingly it was going well. Until about 8 months ago. It will not reconnect to my husbands computer no matter what we or Brothers tech team do. Also the ink is astonishingly expensive and if you buy ANYTHING other than a brothers ink it will not work. This thing is not worth all the head aches to get ahold of the ink which also has not prints about 300 sheets and says toner is low. NIGHTMARE in every way!! Ugh.

It works for now.
So I just replaced a high yield toner cartridge that was still mostly full with this because the chip on it just stopped being recognized by the printer after about a year (no I don't print often).
Nothing like spending money to replace something that should not have to be replaced but why should I expect things these days to last.
