The modern hybrid workspace continues to evolve as digital experiences replace traditional office boundaries. Whether they choose to use the office conference room or meet digitally, employees expect their tools and equipment to work seamlessly.

However, to build genuinely connected hybrid workspaces, organizations need to closely assess how changing work patterns may affect their IT strategy. And whether their current IT ecosystem can balance ease of access with the promise of security.

In this blog, we discuss two key trends that can help decision-makers realign IT with employee expectations, alongside solutions from our partners at Samsung.

1. Hybrid work is here to stay, but employees need a more seamless experience

CDW’s 2023 Digital Workspace Survey found 35 percent of workers reported that switching between office and home is difficult, citing their office setup needed improvement.

This shows a need for better hybrid work planning. Organizations must take stock of their IT equipment and ensure that they can offer comparable performance for in-office and remote work.

IT teams must carefully monitor the equipment needs of workers and introduce PCs, peripherals and other technology that can make working from anywhere just as productive.

2. Technical difficulties with digital collaboration may hinder employee performance

Using digital collaboration platforms seamlessly ensures employees face minimal productivity interruptions. However, the Digital Workspace Survey reported that, on average, three and half hours a week are spent troubleshooting or dealing with a lack of IT technical support. The number shoots up to four hours for small businesses.

At the same time, only 54 percent of respondents said they are confident using videoconferencing technology in meeting rooms at their offices to facilitate a hybrid meeting.

Organizations must design an integrated collaboration environment that efficiently works with in-office equipment and digital tools. Integrated collaboration offerings can help IT teams seamlessly bring digital meetings to conference rooms, laptops and phones.
