Tripp Lite's 1.83 m (6-ft.) DVI - HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable allows interconnection between digital display devices, such as DTV's (Digital Television), Plasma displays, LCD TV's, and projectors, to Digital source devices, such as Digital Set-Top boxes, DVD/DVD-R players, and AV receivers. HDMI DTV's will display video received from existing DVI-equipped products, and DVI-equipped TVs will display video from HDMI sources. The DVI-HDMI adapter does not support audio.

It allows you to connect a laptop to a second monitor; assuming that the other DVI port is already hooked up to another monitor. This allowed me to use the HDMI port on the laptop to use 3 screen simultaneously by extending the screen, using the laptop and 2 monitor screens allowing for maximum work production!
