Tripp Lite's HDMI Over Dual Cat5 Extender Wallplate Kit is the perfect solution for those who need to extend a HDMI signal over a long distance over two Cat5/6 cables.

When using 24Awg, Solid Wire Cat6 cable, a 1080p (24Hz) or 1080i (60Hz) signal can be extended up to 45.72 m (150-ft.) from the source.

When using 24Awg, Solid Wire Cat6 cable, a 3D signal can be extended up to 30.5 m (100-ft.)

When using 24Awg, Solid Wire Cat5 cable, a 1080p (24Hz) or 1080i (60Hz) signal can be extended up to 30.5 m (100-ft.) from the source.

When using 24Awg, Solid Wire Cat5 cable, a 3D signal can be extended up to 15.24 m (50-ft.)

Simply run two Cat5/6 cables between the local transmitter and remote receiver wallplates, and plug in standard Tripp Lite HDMI cables to the HDMI source and the display. The Green LED on the remote receiver wallplate lets you know that power from the source and monitor. When functioning properly, only the Green LED will be lit. If the Red LED is illuminated, it means that the remote receiver is not receiving a functional signal from the source.

The P167-000 comes with both local transmitter and remote receiver wallplates. DTS-HD, Dolby True HD and 7.1 Channel Surround Sound audio are supported, and it is compliant with HDCP, EDID and DDC. 24-bit True Color (8-bits per channel) is supported. No external power is required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good - but with exceptions!I had already bought one these for an application for a new house addition and it worked great (about a 25' run). However, the 2nd unit that I bought was to feed the output signal from an Onkyo AV receiver, through a powered HDMI splitter, into this extender to the remote TV. It does not work properly this way. If I just go from the Direct TV receiver's output, through the splitter, into this extender, and into the remote TV - it works great (same as the 1st application). Now I'm told that I need a signal booster if I want to use my Onkyo AV receiver to resolve the poor signal quality at the remote TV. Do your research before you buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from how to install in a solid wallthe default unit is for dry wall, the plaster board is cut to pass the cables thru. I could not do this I had a solid 9" brick wall so I used a standard 2gang socket and blank. I cut a hole in the blank and screwed the hdmi to that and screwed the 2gang socket to the wall. once the cat cables were connected. and I connect my hdmi leads the picture was great and it was a 20 meter run and no addition power was required. system is expensive but does the job. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These things work! They're self-powered (from the HDMI out#, so no power supply needed. This has allowed us to install long cable runs over plenum-rated Cat6 cable, where the plenum-rated HDMI cable would have been either prohibitively expensive or simply not available. We use them for extended runs for PC displays in a commercial setting, and they've been in use more than a year with no issues.Watch the wiring #have to be reversed from one jack to the other# and the length #the twin cables must be measured within 1cm of each other's length).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works BUT...This product does work, but for my application I wanted to duplicate my computer's screen onto a projector. I have now learned that the computer does not provide the HDMI cable enough power to make this product work. I even hooked up a basic Blu-Ray player and it didn't provide the unit with enough juice. The light on the product is green (which per instructions means everything is good) but there isn't any image on my display, just a flicker of hope. After talking with customer support, I have now learned that there is a power adapter that must be used to provide ample power for the signal. If I can't even hook a Blu-Ray player up to it out of the box, then they probably ought to provide the dern power adapter with the product. So much for the clean install.
