Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't live without this I've been using this keyboard every day at work for like 20 years. One dies and I buy a new one. It's one of the few keyboards that's small enough for me to have a mouse beside the keyboard where I don't have to reach. The others I've tried which were the right size I didn't like the keys - either the feel or the size. I also use the trackpoint depending on what I'm doing. I'm to the point I like to keep a spare just in case. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from make any computer a thinkpad This is exactly what I wanted, it feels like a thinkpad but it's portable and can turn any computer into a thinkpad. It's not a computer without the nub.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Thinkpad keyboard, a few improvements Feels like a mid to low end range Thinkpad laptop keyboard with the short plastic key travel. The keys are solid and the iconic red pointer feels like the genuine laptop part. The only complaints are keyboard flex, with the legs out the keyboard pushes down towards your table surface with anything but the lightest of key taps. With the legs folded, you still feel the top of the keyboard press into the bottom of the plastic enclosure. This should have been firmed up with a support structure or metal plate to have a solid premium Thinkpad keyboard feel for anyone but the most delicate of typists. The last minor thing is why the choice of a fragile mini/micro style USB cable? Something more robust, L angled, or a more solid USB-C connector would’ve been appreciated. There is the wireless model but at twice the cost, you still have a better value with the wired. Overall a better value than most compact keyboards on the market for productivity use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied I love the feel of the keys. It has worked better than I thought. Turns my laptop on without having to open it. Love it. My only wish is to have it slightly bigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but with some flaws Keyboard itself works good. Feeling is same as the laptop I have been using in the past decade. The issue or problem is the USB prot. It is eay to get lossen and stopped working eventually. The other thing for this keyboard is that you cannot submit the repair request event though the warrenty is 3-year. Lenovno website treat it as if this product was diccontinued.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for working from home with two monitors Exactly like my ThinkPad keyboard, including the trackpoint. This allowed me to use a second full size monitor at home without having to start using a mouse (which I really didn't want to do)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Keys, ergonomic design The keyboard is fantastic, with a very smooth press. I am a software developer and have been using a mechanical keyboard for the last few months, but the mechanical keyboard noise was paining my ears. Since then, I started using my XI Carbon's keyboard and fell in love with it because of its noiseless and smooth press. With the hope that the keys of this keyboard would be pretty similar to that of X1 carbon, I purchased it. On the positive side, I felt that keys are deeper, making them even smoother to press than X1 carbon. Though the keys are not as silent as X1 carbon, I enjoy typing in them more than the X1 carbon keyboard. Also, the less depth of the keyboard makes it very comfortable and ergonomic to place my wrist while typing without requiring any keyboard pad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A terrific keyboard, just like the ThinkPad Laptop If you love the feel of the ThinkPad keyboard than this the product for you. Types wonderfully as you would expect. The TrackPoint is love it or hate it as always. I'm in the former camp but I realize its not for everyone. Definitely has a quality feel to it and is solidly built, I expect a long life of service. I plan on using this in my server room because of its compact nature and integrated pointing device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed I needed a compact keyboard that would fit on a shelf in front of a 19 inch rack. The TrackPoint is a bonus since I can probably get rid of the mouse too. The key action feel is great and construction quality seems to be good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect The quality of the keyboard is on par with the one that comes on the laptops, so it doesn't disappoint. However, unlike the built-in keyboard, it is not possible to swap Ctrl and Fn keys. The multimedia keys are also different from the ones in my ThinkPad X230, no Prev/Play/Next keys for example.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice all-in-one smallish keyboard If you need/want a smallish keyboard and like or can utilize the trackpoint thing, it works great. A bit too large front to back, wrist rest(?) perhaps could be made detachable. I needed something wired to eliminate wireless/dead battery possibilities for my on site toolbag, as well as eliminating the need for a mouse. I found the mouse buttons too close to the keyboard, kept clicking them while typing. Since I don't use this all the time, it's not a big issue. Perhaps if I did, I'd get used to not hitting them. WAY back, there was a notebook computer that had the mouse buttons on the FRONT, so you didn't hit 'em by mistake, but it was simple to use thumbs to click them. I was actually trying to find a small, reasonably priced, wired, not wireless keyboard with a trackpad, but found nothing except cheap Chinese wireless ones. I did want a full sized, or nearly full sized keyboard and this has it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great trackpoint is worth the $ Trackpoint is even better than I've had on Lenovo laptops. The touch is good. I can't live without Trackpoint now, the Dell/HP sticks just aren't same quality. So $50 is a lot for most laptops but a bargain for this one. Negatives -- No caps lock light. Not backlit. The special function keys (bright/dim loud/quiet) work fine on both my lenovo and HP laptops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved key surfaces; still need improvement I've had a few of these keyboards, including the wireless version. This new one has "matte" keys, not the glossy surfaces of previous keyboards. The new key surface is far better for typing. I like these keyboards since they match my Thinkpad key layout. My biggest problem is with the "feet". They are flimsy and break easily. No replacement parts for these feet are available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stand alone keyboards I replaced my old, stand-alone Lenovo keyboard with Lenovo’s latest version. The arrangement of keys is very different. For example, the PageUp & PageDown keys are part of the cursor key area. It is hard to use and nowhere near as good as the prior design which had a wrist rest. The main reason for me to use this keyboard is the track point mouse in the middle of the keyboard, which is a brilliant design since my hands don’t have to leave the keyboard to move the cursor around the screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought it as a backup. First off, Lenovo broke the thinkpad/trackpoint keyboard. Shame on them. But I will only use a keyboard with a trackpoint. I bought this keyboard as a backup for when my older IBM Thinkpad keyboards kick the bucket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Acceptable, but could be better. I work with my laptop pushed up against my chest. This allows me to decrease my font size down to the point where I'm limited by the resolution of my 4k display and to effectively gain working area. To deal with the awkward angles this creates, I use two of these keyboards positioned behind my laptop in a pseudo-split keyboard arrangement. For what they are, these keyboards work pretty well. My oldest pair has been in constant use at work for about 5 years. The texture on the home keys have long since worn away and you have to feed them new knubbies every few years, but _they have TrackPoints_ which is an unfortunately rare feature among USB keyboards and the reason why I have two sets for my laptop and just bought a 5th for a desktop. TBH, I would kind of prefer a dedicated split keyboard, but (at least when I last checked) there were absolutely no options on the market with a TrackPoint. These keyboards also suffer from issues of the current Lenovo keyboard layout. In particular, there's no separation on the function keys, so it's very difficult to use them for debugging without having to look down to, e.g., make sure you're going to hit the "step into" key vs the "run" key. If they just brought back the layout from the days of the W510 (which did have function key grouping as well as a better arrangement of the home, end, page up, page down, and delete keys), I would have given this a 5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only pointer stick keyboard I can find. This is the only keyboard I can find with a pointer stick so that I can keep my hands on the keyboard in typing position instead of reaching back and forth for a mouse. Only downside is that the decals on they keys wear off faster than other ways of putting the letters on the keys. (This keyboard replaces my old one that finally died. It wasn't a big deal that many letters had worn off.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from -The- all in one keyboard I have been looking for a good "all in one" keyboard for a while now. I often work on Raspberry Pi projects and don't like the, albeit small, hassle of plugging in both a keyboard and a mouse. I saw this version on sale and quickly typed in my cc. Love it. Works on everything and does exactly what I need it to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bets keyboard with a trackpoint Love the size, feel, and the fact it has a trackpoint. The trackpoint is the main reason for getting this keyboard in my opinion. Now I can use my desktop without a mouse. Wish it had backlights though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ThinkPad Wired USB Keyboard Easy-Pilfer Packaging The unsealed tab-and-slot package construction for the ThinkPad Wired USB Keyboard with TrackPoint is too easily pilfered. During transit, it appears that each side of the packaging was opened simply by removing the side-panel tabs from their slots in order to remove and examine the contents. Perhaps expecting to find a tablet or pad-type computer inside, the keyboard was jammed back inside, tearing the panel seams a bit and folding up the enclosed paperwork. The keyboard seems to function okay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic USB-wired keyboard with track point. This is an 'ok' USB wired keyboard with the trackpoint. It doesn't have quite the same firm feeling as my laptop keyboard; its just a bit more flimsy. Keys/keyboard are the same size as I am used to, though it doesn't have the 'wrist rest' space so it is not quite as easy to use in my lap, but works fine on my desk. None of the keys light up like on my laptops ( i.e., capslock or F1/mute). I had a hard time deciding on this vs the bluetooth version. This is much less expensive and works ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a ThinkPad, broken middle button scroll It's a decent keyboard, but not quite the ThinkPad replica I was hoping for. The keys felt stiffer than the ones on my ThinkPad T540p, and the Trackpoint was noticably less sensitive, even when plugged into my ThinkPad. The biggest issue for me was the middle button scroll support on macOS, though. The middle button always registered a middle click, even when scrolling, so I'd often accidentally middle click on links while scrolling in the browser. I couldn't even work around it with Karabiner Elements. If you don't use the middle click scrolling, this keyboard may be good enough, but it's not exactly the same as a real ThinkPad keyboard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No real middle mouse button I'm an X windows user, and make extensive use of the middle mouse button with the trackpoint. I've used many Lenovo laptops and keyboards and until now loved them all because they had a three button mouse built right into the keyboard. Unfortunately, the middle mouse button on this keyboard is not really a middle mouse button, because it doesn't allow you to drag. The minute you drag, the mouse button is reported as released and instead up and down movement gets reported as scroll wheel events. Worse, I can't even get the horizontal scroll wheel to work, because it seems to get reported as a completely different class of usb hid event. What's so frustrating about this is that it's trivial to configure the X server to emulate a scroll wheel given a third mouse button, but almost impossible to do the converse. Why did Lenovo do this do the keyboard instead of just having the driver software or configuration handle scrollwheel emulation for people who want it?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good design for a small keyboard use this small keyboard for more than 6 months, really good design like a thinkpad keyboard with trackpoint. key has very good feedback when you push it, better than most of the keyboard I have used in the same price range. really enjoy the keyboard when typing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent keyboard! Quiet! Love this keyboard. Offers the same layout as the thinkpad, which I really like. It is consistent going from dock to laptop. Love the page up/down keys being so accessible for excel and web browsing. It is very study, with satisfying keystrokes, but also quiet so it doesn’t bother those nearby.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from USB keyboard with TrackPoint I use the portable keyboard as I use my laptop at home and work in the docking station. The keyboard is the older style "chicklet" which I prefer. I love the built in trackpoint. Only negative is that the Cap Lock does not light up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Keyboard, Great Pointer I've used a nub pointer for 25+ years. This one is probably the best I have used. Typing is very comfortable. Only downside is not having a CapsLock indicator. This is currently connected to a laptop where they recently removed the second pointer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fn key is where the Ctrl key should be! I really tried to like this keyboard. It has so much about it that is GREAT. However, after 2 months of trying to get used to it, I just couldn’t: the Fn key is where the Ctrl key should be! I use the Ctrl key A LOT (e.g., copy/paste and a zillion other important keyboard shortcuts). I need to be able to reliably hit it without looking for it. This is no longer possible as it is not in the most logical place: the bottom left corner. I am therefore going to have to sell my brand new keyboard on eBay because I simply cannot get used to this. I therefore advise everyone to think long and hard about where they need their Ctrl key to be, as it is not in the right place on this keyboard. Michael

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As nice as a thinkpad I recently got a desktop from my employer to work from home. Very nice machine, but I had a hard time working. After a few days I noticed that it was because of problems with typing due to the regular sized keyboard. As it didn't really improve over a few weeks I got this keyboard. Now I am much happier with the desktop machine. Given how many hours per day I spend working the Thinkpad keyboard was a very good investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, light. Bulletproof! Small - light - as is usual with all the old Lenovo keyboards, totally bulletproof. I HAD to get one before they stopped including their pointing stick, which it seems, they are slowly phasing out. At least this way, I'll always have my pointing stick! So now i use a big (Lenovo, of course) - 19" monitor, cause it was the lightest one I could find, with a pc desktop. so I could build my own "laptop" platform I could sit on my lap. It's still a work in progress, but I already like it. As usual, the little arrow has already started moving around on it's own like they all do, but it's the small price you pay - to have a pointing stick, & that's the ONLY reason i marked "good' - instead of "Excellent"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Keyboard I purchased this keyboard after using the X120e laptop by Lenovo. The tactile response and key layout is by far the best I have ever used. I only have one gripe about the keyboard. I wish there were function controls for pause/play, and fast forward. The x120e has these options and I really notice their absence. I would have easily given up the alt-tab shortcut, windows "Find" and whatever function is added to F12 (doesn't do anything on Windows 7 Pro that I can tell. Lastly, I felt the price point was a little high but for Lenovo quality and the specific design I was looking for I was willing to pay for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please change to single-connection USB cable I have keyboard-related nerve injuries, so I require a small keyboard with minimal stroke distance and minimal feedback; very hard to find. I purchased one for home and work. My one complaint is that I had to buy this one, my 3rd, because of the terrible connection on the keyboard end of the USB cable. It loosens over time, so then it begins to fall out during the workday and recently my work one broke as someone who didn't know how bad it was pushed hard on the connection and broke it. It would be Very Much appreciated if you could make this hardwired to the USB connector, eliminating the small connector end on the keyboard itself. Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Keyboard of All Desktop/Laptop Options For everything that the keyboard is, it's 100% my favorite. I didn't give 5-stars because I want a new version of this keyboard to be created ASAP which is illuminated, and which can do either Bluetooth or USB. Having the two separate products like it is right now, is not ideal. They are the exact same product, but purposely limited. They should be combined and illuminated and kept at the same price. Lenovo would then be making a lot more money off of this keyboard (I would buy 2 in a heart beat and recommend them to everyone).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice keyboard with issues, still want the classic The original (like the one on my X220) is perfect. This one is good for typing, has correct size. Just a couple of issues: 1) keys are a little bit. 2) The USB port position is a bit awkward. Better position it on the side or use a more flexible USB cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect This keyboard is almost perfect. In my opinion, it only needs to have the 'PgUP', and PgDOWN' buttons to be trimmed from the bottom (wrong keys are pressed if in a hurry). I believe that the newer ThinkPads already have them as such. Except for that, its keys are responsive, its easy to travel with, and it has a TrackPoint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Nice Keyboard I think this Thinkpad keyboard is one of the best I've ever used for touch typing. Even the little raised dots on the "j" and "f" keys are slightly bigger and therefore more effective in positioning your fingers than most other keyboards. The one thing I would definitely change on this keyboard is the position of the function key. It is where I expect the "ctrl" key to be and therefore I have to redo those actions frequently. Even chromebooks have a larger control key in that position. And a note on carpal tunnel problems. I got this keyboard to help with carpal tunnel. the red button on this keyboard allows me to avoid using the mouse if my wrist is bothering me. It does help. It is not as helpful as my larger ergonomic (curved keyboard with keypad, but that keyboard is huge and has a numbers pad on the right side which throws off the balance when typing on your lap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal for tight spaces and touch typists This has become my favorite keyboard. It's ideal for tight spaces where a full size keyboard and mouse won't fit. It's got a good touch for a 90+ WPM typist, and the built-in pointer means I can keep my fingers on the home row. The sculpted keys fit my fingers, and the fj dimples are easy to find while watching the screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Keyboard I have a small home office desk and bought this compact keyboard for extra paperwork space. Its size, responsiveness and haptic feedback perfectly fit the bill. The unexpected surprise is how well the Trackpoint works. My Thinkpad Yoga 12’s internal one has never worked properly and I generally use a mobile mouse instead. For whatever reason, the external keyboard’s Trackpoint works perfectly with the same laptop. This is my 9th or 10th Thinkpad since the original model, and this keyboard’s Trackpoint may be the most comfortabke. Recommended to anyone needing a compact keyboard. I also bought Lenovo’s excellent number keypad to go with it, which I can set aside when I don’t need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Here's A ThinkPad Keyboard For Your Desktop! I have owned ThinkPad laptops for 20 years and find the TrackPoint feature to be indispensable for moving the cursor without having to reach for a mouse. So naturally I wanted a TrackPoint keyboard for my Lenovo Y720 desktop. This keyboard is surprisingly compact while providing a comfortable key spacing for typing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great keyboard! I love this keyboard! It is really similar to the keyboard in my X1 carbon which is why I bought it. Spacing of the keys is great. Key travel is not too short like some similar keyboards. It is slightly louder and stiffer than the laptop keyboard but I think it may loosen up after some use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as good as the keyboard in your Thinkpad I've used Thinkpads for years. I love that keyboard and need the trackpoint. However this one does NOT have the right feel. If you are going to use the keyboard all day and except that same excellent feel, do not get this keyboard. I had to give up on it. There ARE other earlier USB keyboards from Lenovo that have "the feel" (e.g. model SK-8855), but this one ain't quite right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for travel but also wrist / shoulder relief This is a really great keyboard. The form and size allows for travel but I've got these for my desktop machines at home and work. The low profile helps with wrist strain and the compact size allows the mouse to be closer and your shoulder positions to be more neutral which is really nice. You can SWITCH the Ctrl and Fn key functions if you like. It's in the manual. That said, I haven't switched it and I use the Ctrl key extensively without issue. Also, I keep the F# keys active instead of the multimedia keys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snappy little keyboard I spent a lot of time researching for a quality keyboard and I wound up landing with this one. It's very snappy and responsive, yet the foot print is very compact. ThinkPad has always had a great reputation for responsive keyboards and this one does not disappoint. Highly recommend this for writers and coders. It's also thin and portable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from USB Connector Weak and Breaks The USB cable for both the USB and the Bluetooth models of this keyboard is detachable, attached to the back of the keybaords via a microUSB connector. This connector is extremely weak and has broken for both of the two devices we've purchased so far, so that the cable is no longer firmly held and resulting in the USB model disconnecting and the Bluetooth model not reliably charging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same layout as X1 Carbon 6th gen. but the feel fin Same layout as X1 Carbon 6th gen. but the feel finish are completely different. Feels a little more cramped and the keys are a kind of glossy, textured finish, rather than the matte soft-touch finish on the X1C. Obviously neither keyboard compares to the X220 and the matching SK-8855 USB keyboard (which were a perfect match and both excellent keyboards). Sad to see Lenovo following Apple down the path of subpar chiclet keyboards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but not great, bring back the earlier design The keyboard has excellent touch and is nice for sustained periods of typing. But it is quite unfortunate that Lenovo does not try to make this keyboard as useful as its earlier design (see attached photo) in which there was a built-in hand rest and there were extra separate keys so that the function keys F1 through F12 did not serve so many double purposes. In a nutshell, since this keyboard is not part of a laptop, there is freedom to make it more functional and Lenovo should do this by making it a big bigger, add a handrest as before, and add extra keys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, versatile, comfortable Though a bit expensive, I think this is a good product that could be invaluable in certain situations. The typing experience is pretty good, it probably won't impress hardcore mechanical keyboard enthusiasts but it certainly beats most laptop keyboards and I personally can't stand cheap desktop keyboards. The keys have plenty of travel, there's not much deck flex even though I typically strike the keys exceptionally hard. Overall, the typing experience is pretty similar to the recent ThinkPad laptops, which is kind of the point of this product. It's compact size makes it perfect for tight spaces where there isn't much desk space, I set mine on top of my laptop's keyboard deck (which I hate for an instant keyboard upgrade. The trackpoint is also very convenient, allowing you to do precision pointing without moving your fingers away from the keyboard. Some will prefer it over a trackpad, and in a pinch where there is really no extra desk space whatsoever, you don't need to have a mouse because of it. Obviously ThinkPad (or Latitude) laptop users will also appreciate it. There is also no numpad, which I count as a feature because it makes for better typing posture with your hands centered in front of the screen, but data-entry enthusiasts will no doubt find it annoying. The build quality is good enough, it's all plastic and pretty lightweight, but it feels pretty sturdy, not cheap, and has very little flex. Despite all my glowing praise, I still think the asking price is a bit steep. I'll still probably end up putting one in front of my main computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great KB for TrackPoint lovers This is the latest of several TrackPoint keyboards I have owned. I have the original 104 key and SpaceSaver keyboards from IBM as well as a UltraNav low profile one that also includes a touchpad. This is perhaps the best of the lot, primarily due to the better key mechanisms that are nearly identical to that on my X1 Tablet. I would have given it 5 stars had it had a backlight option like my laptop and the TrackPoint cap been a bit higher/ not as flush with the rest of the keyboard. Great size overall, not cramped at all. It was plug and play on my (non-Lenovo) Windows 10 workstation. Not long after it installed, I received a pop-up to install an enhanced keyboard driver, which seems to work well. The volume up/down keys work on the desktop PC just like it does on my X1 laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Matches ThinkPad keyboard I have a 2013 Lenovo Thinkpad x230. I use it with two auxiliary screens, keyboard and mouse when I am at my desk. I have used one other keyboard but didn't like the fact that the keys differed from the laptop, because when I am traveling I use the laptop alone. This keyboard matches my laptop. On the downside some of the special functions don't work, for example, turning wireless on and off, but most of them do. If the computer goes to sleep I have to open my laptop to turn it back on. This is my third ThinkPad auxiliary keyboard. I have been disappointed that the other two did not last. So my 4 star rating rather than 5 star is cautionary based on my past experience with these keyboards and the inability to perform all functions from the keyboard without opening the laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it, and that's good enough for me I really appreciate having a keyboard separate from my laptop so I can work more comfortably at home. For the most part this keyboard has worked quite well for me. The only thing I'll say is that sometimes the "TrackPoint" will sometimes be a little finicky and continue sliding in one direction. This I somewhat expected since I used it before and I still value a finicky TrackPoint to having to buy a separate mouse or accidentally moving my cursor because a touch-pad is too sensitive and screws up what I was typing. Stupid additional note, I like the click of this keyboard, so that's nice too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Close but no banana. The feel is close to the keyboard in a current gen Thinkpad, but it's not quite the same. Maybe I just need to break it in, but it just feels cheaper. Not quite as firm a break. What's really missing are two things: Lighting. Not backlighting, but lights for caps and Fn lock. If it had those, it's be near perfect. A 10 key option. I type in enough PINs and IP addresses that I bought the external 10 key, unfortunately that doesn't have the same feel at all. It still feels better than a lot of keyboards out there and I'll keep it, but dinging it 2 stars for these (what should be obvious) oversights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would be 5 stars if key-labels weren't reflective I have been hooked on ThinkPad keyboards for nearly 20 years. This one feels right to me, is nice and small, and doesn't have the disconnect issues that I experienced with the Bluetooth version. My one major complaint is that the labels for the keys aren't matte. My workspace is set up such that I have an overhead light about four feet in front of me, and the reflection off my shiny key-labels makes them hard to read. It's so bad that I've used a metallic marker to give myself a couple of visual landmarks for function keys, which are outside my touch-typing comfort/confidence zone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trackpoint yeah! I got mine from eBay. Overall the keyboard is good. Material could be better, the keys are too 'plastic', I could use a pinch of rubber in them or at least at the bottom. Trackpoint is the main selling point and it's good. Sometimes the pointer slides away and you must nudge it to stop doing that. Ctrl button is second in the lowest row but that's the same on macs, not a big issue. Delete button placement is fantastic but page up/down button are too close to arrow keys. I use it on debian linux with the additional software called easystroke, it fixes middle button + scroll issue for me.

Downloading the Trackpoint software and driver improve its feature set. I really like it. However, it has a couple of annoyances. The micro-USB cable connector on the keyboard seems like a weak point though I don't transport my keyboard much. There is no KeyLock light for the caps lock key. This is a real annoyance. How difficult is it to include this feature since every other Lenovo keyboard has it? Especially since this is a moderately pricey keyboard.

After using it for a few days, I am very happy with this keyboard. I like the small form factor, the key layout (including the dual purpose function keys), key travel, TrackPoint. I still wish it had a TrackPad but I'm OK with just a TrackPoint because I tend to use keyboard shortcuts the majority of the time anyways (and if it becomes intolerable or I have a task that requires extensive mousing, I will just buy a USB trackpad or I will reattach my normal mouse and keep it nearby.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works first time, every time. This is a great dock. I plugged in my Lenovo T490, it found the drivers within seconds, and then the dock was connected. I checked the ethernet speed: using the port on the dock gave no decrease in speed over the native port on the laptop. The DisplayPort connection is smooth, stable, and clear. I was trying out mechanical keyboards, and at one point I had three external keyboards connected, in addition to the keyboard on the laptop itself. Everything was usable with the dock, and I could move each keyboard into place to try it, without unplugging the other keyboards. Fantastic stability. The USB-c, 10xspeed USB-a, and headphone jacks on the front are also very convenient. Also the dock is low-key and small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor design of usb connector and riser tabs, poor I just hate the way the usb cable connects. It is clearly flimsy and will break fast if you have a tight space, which would be a reason to buy this item. For such an expensive keyboard this is unacceptable. EPIC FAIL here. the riser tabs are so low they might just not be there, makes this keyboard a poor ergonomic choice. Had to buy 2 slim wrist tests one to rise the back of the keyboard another to rest the palms to even make it usable. EPIC FAIL I do love the key layout, better than my old trusty SK8855, but the lower risers, cable issue and the very nice wrist rest included in the SK8855 make it a far superior product, so much so I went back to using after remapping the prev/next keys above the cursor keys to pgup/pgdown.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall nice keyboard, with some flaws ThinkPad Wired USB Keyboard with TrackPoint The keyboard overall has an ok build, being able to withstand normal daily typing tasks such as writing essays or surfing the web. It does have some keyboard flex near the middle of the board, but it is slightly mitigated when using the feet built into the bottom of the keyboard. The trackpoint is nice, and is the main reason I bought the keyboard. Under linux, one can use xinput to adjust sensitivity, but do note that the device shows up twice under the same name under the devices list, thus one will need to check which device id actually corresponds to the pointing cursor. The three buttons are similar to those found on older models of Thinkpads, such as the X1 Yoga from 2016. On my model, it seems the left button is stickier than the right button and won't press down as deep, but it still functions well. The key travel is much deeper than modern Thinkpads, and typing on this keyboard felt very much better than that on a P16s. It also doesn't seem to get as shiny from usage as modern keyboards, which is pretty nice. The lack of lights can be a major con, however, especially on the caps lock key. If using GNOME on linux, an extension can be installed to visually show the status of caps lock, and that is what I use now. Another complaint is that the included USB cable does not fit tightly into the port on the keyboard, but this was resolved by using the usb cord from a logitech mouse. Overall it is a very nice keyboard that retains the Thinkpad feel and trackpoint usability. There are some flaws such as lack of lighting or flex, but it works well enough for daily usage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost the best trackpoint keyboard 5.5mm trackpoint isn't as good as the original 6mm, but it's still way better than the 4mms and 3mms. The depth of keystrokes is also extremely nice for all-day typing. One major drawback: There is no gap between F12 and Home key and that creates a huge confusion for me whenever I try to touch the home key. It's a bit annoying. But still this is the best wired keyboard with trackpoint you can get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite work keyboard I have a small desk with a ton of gear, economy of space is paramount for me. There are a ton of small form factor keyboards out there, but they're nearly all focused on gaming/gaming culture, and that's fine, but sometimes you need something specifically for work not play. This is basically a best-of-breed laptop keyboard (something Thinkpads have been king of since they were IBM controlled) squished into a "desktop", albeit low profile, form factor. The feeling is exactly what one would expect from a Thinkpad, the trackpoint on a desktop is SO welcome and the fact that it has a small amount of onboard memory so it can autoload drivers for the trackpoint and other features was a outstanding detail that ALL multimedia keyboards should be doing. I'm on my 2nd one of these (after 3 cups of tea over 5 years the first one died, TOTALLY fair, I wasn't light on it). 100% would recommend if you like the feel of Thinkpad keyboards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The keys are weirdly squishy, no Capslockight The keys on the wired one are not like the ones on the BT keyboard, which has a really nice professional feel, as would be expected from a ThinkPad. The wired keyboard has really bad squishy keys, that are not a pleasure to type on. I hope Lenovo decides to make the keys on this keyboard similar to those on the BT version. Also, there is no light on the Capslock button. Since the keyboard works only when connected by the USB cable, why not have the light on Capslock? And the USB connector on the keyboard is not USB-C, it is the older type.... whaatttt!! Finally, weighs less then the BT version. It just gives the BT version a goodly feel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Descent keyboard but scrolling is subpar. Good solid keyboard with good key stroke travel. Precise key press as in the ThinkPad notebooks. The TrackPoint is the main reason for the purchase of this keyboard. It works well (4 stars). It could have been 5 star if its motion is more smooth and less resistance. The TrackPoint works well by itself. However, when paired with the middle button, there is quite a bit of lag and "drag". The "TrackPoint paired with middle button" is used for scrolling. The movement is uneven with the force applied to the TrackPoint. This results in overshoot and it takes a some back and forth to get to the desired location of the web page or scroll menu. It would have gotten 5 stars if the scrolling can be as smooth as a TrackPad. However it is not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Swap the FN and CTRL keys. You need to release a firmware update that lets you switch the FN and CTRL keys. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as good as a real ThinkPad T-series keyboard I've absolutely loved the keyboard on my ThinkPad T490s, and I wanted to get an equivalent keyboard for my work desktop. Unfortunately, this wired keyboard is far inferior to the one in the T490s: the resistance is lighter and the bottoming feel is terrible. The flex in the plastic construction doesn't help either. Overall it feels really cheap—nowhere close to the $42 I paid for it (let alone the regular $60 price). Plus the TrackPoint is buggy. At first TrackPoint scrolling would frequently stop working at all, and had to be unplugged and replugged to make it start working again. Eventually I found and manually downloaded the right drivers, which fixed that issue; but there were still some apps where TrackPoint scrolling would refuse to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please offer a classic selectric keyboard option Lenovo bought the rights to the AMAZING IBM keyboard - the best in the computer world - and instead decided to go trendy with Chiclet-style keyboards - which is fine, but you should make a classic version available as well. There is LESS travel and I find this design activates my RSI - fingertips get sore. One of my most-used keys is gone - the lower right key that allowed me to "go back" on a browser - now I have to hit a keyboard combo. I instead found a used classic but they are very rare and very expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modifications make the keyboard better I had to make a couple modifications to the keyboard in order to get it to work properly for me. First, I had to use an aftermarket micro USB to USB cable, both because the keyboard didn't come with a cable and also because there are numerous reports of the micro USB connection becoming loose over time. I purchased an aftermarket right angle micro USB to USB cable, which is supposed to prevent the loosened connection problem. Additionally, the legs underneath the keyboard are too short so I had to purchase a flip keyboard stand to elevate the keyboard sufficiently. Fortunately, I found a stand that extended 9" across the middle of the keyboard (as there are reports that the keyboard flexes and bows when used). The stand thus provides additional structural support to prevent such flexing and bowing. Aside from the above (and the Fn key being placed where the left Ctrl key is placed on all non Lenovo keyboards), this keyboard has been pretty good. It is more or less plug and play. However, installing the Lenovo keyboard driver allows the middle key to be used to scroll sideways in addition to up and down. That said, prior to installing the driver I was able to scroll vertically by clicking the middle button without having to keep a finger on the Trackpoint; the driver removed this ability. Still, the whole point of my getting this keyboard was because I wanted an external keyboard with a Trackpoint. The Trackpoint functions very well. The sensitivity is pretty good and the Trackpoint is overall pretty responsive. I also much prefer how the Fn lock works on this keyboard over how it works on my Lenovo ThinkPad E14. With this keyboard, any of the functions assigned to the F1-12 keys can be activated by pressing the Fn and the Esc (FnLk) key and the appropriate function (F1-12) key, unlike the ThinkPad's keyboard, which requires not only pressing not only the Fn and the Esc (FnLk) keys, but also pressing the Fn key when pressing one of the F1-12 keys. Overall, this keyboard is good for ThinkPad fans who want to be able to use a ThinkPad keyboard either with a non-ThinkPad computer or with a laptop hub connected to a ThinkPad.

I own two Lenovo laptops and have always felt that their keyboards were the best of any other keyboard on the market. I ordered the ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II. The keyboard arrived in a timely manner and in perfect condition. I could not be more pleased with the keyboard. I'm able to type faster and with less errors than with the 'standby' that I had been using. The feel of and the motion of the keys is a technological masterpiece. If you are looking for a keyboard, you can do no better than to buy a Lenovo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost like like typing on my Thinkpad. Just purchased so can not speak to longevity and reliability. I will say that the plug in cord that plugs into the keyboard side does feel a bit loose. Would have liked a USB-C plug in because they feel a lot more secure. However the typing experience is awesome. I almost feel like I'm typing on my Thinkpad YOGA X1 which is exactly what I wanted for my work desktop. I did read all the reviews before buying and some comments are legitimate but I think some are how rough people are on the equipment. I would have gave it 5 starts if it had not been for the cord.

If you use a Thinkpad laptop at all, you will benefit from the consistency that this keyboard provides. The keys are not as shallow as in the X line, probably more closely paired with the P line. It does like to move around a little on the desktop as it is so light, nothing a mat can't help. It would be perfect if it had a backlight and with a caps lock indicator. Overall great quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I enjoy this keyboard. I bought this keyboard because I needed a separate keyboard when using my laptop (to improve my posture) and didn't want to have a separate mouse. This seemed to be the most reliable option. I didn't have any previous experience with TrackPoints but it was easy to get used to. I deducted one star because highlighting words can be tricky. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice keyboard. Not perfect, but very very ni Very nice feel. Is a true Thinkpad Keyboard. I had used one for awhile on a thinkpad from work that I really liked, and I wanted to get access to the trackpoint (red nib) controller to have an alternate input method to help my wrists relax. It is a good keyboard. I own several kit-built keyboards, with Cherry or Gateron switches, and I think I have pretty good taste. Over all, this keyboard has a very solid feel, keys are crisp and not wobbly, and the base is firm and has a bit of weight to it. Great, right? Well, I knocked off one star because it's easy to knock the little nib off the trackpoint. That thing is small and can get lost (mine got lost and I had to order more). Also, the feet on the back of the keyboard can come off very easily, for example if I put it in my backpack and carry it to a coffee shop near me to work. Not perfect, because of the above issues. However, I would gladly buy it again. I like the keyboard.
