They arrived crushed. I haven't opened the inner packet because I don't want the ink to dry out. I am hoping that the actual cartridge is intact but won't know until I go to use them. Very disappointed in the choice to ship these in an envelope.

I will not be ordering supplies from HP again. The one I received last week did not work, I could not get anyone from HP on the telephone, and could not get anyone on that chat. Plus it took 7 days for delivery. Of course, the burden is on me to return the cartridge before I get a replacement. It is Tax time so forget HP from now on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing Printer Operation I bought an inkjet 7740 printer because I wanted to print and scan tabloid size paper. As the original individual ink cartridges began to run out the usual "low ink" warnings began to appear. When the cyan cartridge ran out the printer would not print. After replacing the cartridge the printer still would not print. It now indicated the yellow cartridge needed replacement. After installing a new yellow, still would not print. Now the printer indicated the magenta needed replacement. Only after replacing all three color ink cartridges would the printer resume proper operation. I know the yellow and magenta cartridges still contained adequate ink because I had just printed a "printer status report". I am really disappointed that I had to replace yellow and magenta cartridges that still contained ink. When the printers had one cartridge with all three color inks it was such a waste when one color ran out. Now this printer with individual cartridges is forcing me to replace cartridges with ink still remaining. Is this the proper operation of this printer? These ink cartridges are just too expensive to replace them prematurely. There has to be a better way manage the ink cartridges. Is my printer operating properly, does it need a setting changed, any suggestions? Thank you, Gary

In trying to exchange it was an issue trying to get across to a limited English speaking person. A manage had to get on the line. Then when I printed the shipping label the shipping address was wrong. and the hone issue started all over again. Bottom line, I finally got the 952XL cartridges and they are great as always with HP cartridges,

This printer has incredible quality and the ink cartridges yield many more images than in the past. It reminds me of my design jet printer I bought for my business. The printer accepted the colored cartridges which had run out. But a month later when I inserted the black ink cartridge, it was rejected. And it was too late to return it to Amazon, since I had used the color cartridges. I had to throw out a perfectly good black ink cartridge because it was missing an HP chip.

Forcing us to buy cartridges has a very bad impact on my wanting to buy any more of this product in the future. I don't mind paying for ink to fill cartridges, but throwing away cartridges to an already polluted environment is disgusting and wasteful. A return cartridge policy to refill them, or even better ink so I can refill them is an environmentally better solution. Your policy of only allowing original HP cartridges to be used, not allowing us to refill them, forcing us to throw them away is not going to win long term friends for your product.

Usually, the printing is a nice dark, bold color. I wonder if I got an old cartridge. Maybe I should take it out of the printer and shake it. Did the ingredients separate, and the blackness is at the bottom of the cartridge ? Who knows ?

However, HP recently changed the drivers on the printer so that it no longer recognizes the HP cartridges that I already had. So I had to buy new ones. This was really STUPID of you to do! Forcing your customers to buy new cartridges when they have perfectly serviceable ones already on hand is very BAD customer service!

The printer is the worst I've ever had and I have owned printers for many years. It doesn't do many things that I was told it would do before I bought it. I need it to print 11" x 17" paper but the paper ALWAYS jams. It takes ages to print. I asked about returning it and was told "you already bought it!" Too bad!

This is the only HP printer that i have so I my money was wasted on that cartridge and I had to purchase another one from HP. Not happy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beats going to Walmart One can use the ease of ordering online for their HP ink, or one can 1) drive to the local Walmart, 2) look for someone to open the locked up ink cartridges and hope your type is in stock,3) wait in line to pay, including self checkout, 4) scrutinized by the little old lady checking customers as one leaves the store, 5) contend with people going up the wrong way in the parking lot as you run the gauntlet of shopping carts left in the way, etc.

So I resumed using HP cartridges which resolved all the printing issues I was having. Even though HP cartridges are more expensive the quality is superior and worth the extra cost. I highly recommend HP cartridges.

This means that the HP printer that I bought in the Caribbean won't work with ink bought in the US without changing the printer's region code, even though it is the SAME model. Absurd, and ridiculous. I will be looking for another printer.

Apparently it is my responsibility to do their customer service job to try and find where the cartridges went. “Go to USPS and ask them where it is” is not an appropriate response!

I drove to the location and guess what...they didn't have it..!!! I contacted HP and purchased the needed ink online, later that same day. The shipping to my house was free and it was at my front door the next morning. Now that's getting things done...

Is there a way to adjust the ink feed to provide a darker print? My vision is very poor, so my pages are sometimes too light for me to see clearly. The ink dries easily, the colors are bold and bright, and I am able to make a significant amount of copies. This is the best ink and a great value. I have tried the generic HP brand, but it does not have the HP quality, so don't waise your time on "knock offs."

The printer indicated the other ink colors were low but still working. I installed the new cartridge and the printer would not print because it said another color was now out (without a single page being printed). I ordered that color and installed it. Now it says another color is out. I have been without a printer for over a month.

The printer tested and verified genuine HP cartridge, went thru it's cycle, then said "cartridges depleted, please replace." I did every re-boot, etc, and still nothing. Now, I've spent $50 on a cartridge, and have no printer, and no ability to print. And nothing seems to work. Throwing money away is insane!!! :(

When the first printer ran out of ink, it inhibited my HP printer from working. I couldn't even scan documents. I inquired with customer service and was told the only way to fix that problem was to replace the ink cartridge. So I did, making the purchase for the HP 952XL cartridge. I installed it and received a message that said I shouldn't have installed the cartridge because of the never run out of ink program. I can't get anyone with HP Customer Service to call me. If you purchase an HP printer and activate the never run out of ink program, your actually paying more for ink to keep your printer operational. I'm am very disappointed.

If I remember, the printer cost less than the replacement ink. Several cartridges showed ink before starting the replacement. I guess it got blown out during the cleaning because they all had to be replaced one at a time.

When my ink ran out I installed my backup, but the online readout from HP said that my "new" ink had expired before I even used it. A waste of $130! Since this was in the coronavirus period, I didn't want to go out, and HP made it so easy to order what I wanted without making any mistake, because they are somehow in touch with my printer! I have gone down this slippery slope before and have been disappointed in one way or another. Either the ink clogged the machine, or it didn't give the image density I was looking for, or it simply ran out a long time before it was supposed to. Don't fall into this trap! Buy only HP Ink and you will save money and heartache in the long run.

I ordered the XL ink because it lasts a lot longer then the regular ink. Also I accidently removed the existing 952XL, and I received a report that a used ink was installed. I have been using HP equipment for years and I am disappointed right now! I also have some older unused regular inks that will not be allowed to be installed. Ellis

After properly inserting the plastic container in my printer and printing a test page, the ink appears to be black. It appears to be the proper darkness so as to be legible on the page.

The price keeps going up and now the cartridges I use are not offered on the site anymore so I had to call to order. It was the longest and most painful experience I have endured in quite some time trying to order a product. I am seriously looking at changing to a Brother printer in the future which may be sooner than later because they are phasing out my printer and therefore my ink cartridge number

The cartridge was with packaging and plugs that I have come to expect when I have purchased new ink cartridges. I thought that since I ordered from HP website I would be getting a new product, not refilled cartridge. I tried multiple times to reach out to customer service and spoke with people from a foreign country that do not have a good command of the English language. I won't order ink from there again.

Love that HP is so environmentally aware! The cartridges I need for my 7740 are so easy to replace, too. Pop out the old one and push in the new one. Love how the printer tells me when to make sure I have the color on hand so I don't run out unexpectedly.

I only want to print in black. I have switched my preferences, still did not work. Finally called HP support. Outcome : have to buy the other 3 colors, which will take another week to have delivered. It still sounds strange to me and I hope someone can verify. It does not make sense.

My printer gives me terrific service and is extremely reliable. The only problem I have had is with the "scan to email" feature which no longer works and I cannot figure out why. However, I solved this problem with my telephone. I have absolutely no complaints about other features of this printer and strongly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from expensive I have been purchasing 952XL in a multipack at Costco for several years and now suddenly, they reduced the # of cartridges they carry. They are no longer carrying 952XL Black. I use this more than I do the color cartridges and because Costco is close, I used to be able to run over and pick them up. Now that they don't carry it, I am having to order online and wait for the delivery, which is more than a day. When I first inserted this particular singular cartridge, it would not print. Brand new straight out of the box. I tried cleaning printhead, aligning printhead several times. Finally, I decided I better check the supply for the other colors. I replaced the yellow cartridge, but then had to clean and align printheads several times again. I never had this problem when I got the multipacks from Costco. Maybe the printer is on it's last legs? A new printhead is the same price as some of the printers themselves. So, I really don't know if it was the cartridge or if it's the printer. In any case, I wish that I didn't have to order online and wait for the ink to be delivered.

When it HP's monitoring system tells me the well is empty I tend to believe it. I have hard time believing the lifetime supply machines offered by competitors. If true can someone tell me how long those machines last? I have run a lot of ink through the most short lived, 5 to 8 years, HP printers

I only purchase and use the original HP units because they are designed for my HP printer. I tried to purchase off brands and each time they either did not work correctly or they ran out of ink very soon. I do not print enough to use the HP ink program but if I did I would use it.

I've owned an HP Printer for 20+ years and am always very satisfied with the quality of printing, easy operating parameters and networking capability through my wireless WAN. HP's high yield cartridges are great and perform as advertised. I initially got the high yield black...but, now all the cartridges that I use are high yield. Yes...they cost more than normal printer cartridges, but the high yield cartridges are well worth the additional expense.

Also had to replace 8715, replacement couldn't be installed because of failed internet connection, and so another 8715 had to be installed - all on technician's paid time. And now it is running only on installation cartridges - not XL cartridges. Hopefully the cycle will not begin again - but very poor quality control. If this one goes beserk, no more HP.

Third party ink may look attractive for a lower price but every time the output isn't quite right and has to be repeated, this adds to the price. HP OEM cartridges work consistently until they're empty. You get what you pay for.

The printer came with 954XL print cartridges and the stickers on the printer clearly say 954XL cartridges are needed. However, HP quit making them. So I asked HP and they said to use the 952XL. So I bought some. They don’t work. HP then said to try the 956XL. So I did a replacement order. They don’t work either. I ended up ordering some third-party 954XL’s and they work fine.

The cartridges do not deliver what they say as far as the number of copies you will yield. I get about half what they say. It keeps me buying cartridges. I am going to start just getting them refilled at COSTCO. I can't afford to keep buying cartridges every month.

We use our printer quite often and it has taken an exceptional amount of time (over 1 year) for us to use up this Ink Cartridge.. I kept wondering we would run out since we depend on our printer soo much. This ink lasts longer than 5 "energizer bunnies"
