In the past - I've tried to save money by buying a re-filled cartridge. That was a BIG mistake! The re-filled one didn't print well at all! So - I had to throw it away and lost money rather than saving money!
Whenever I've bought a new genuine HP cartridge it performed flawlessly! They produce nice sharp, dark, results and last for quite a lot of copies.
I've learned my lesson (the hard way) and won't buy re-fills again! I now only use the great genuine HP cartridges and am happy that I'm doing so!

There was only one problem. When I put the hp22 in my printer, it told me it was the wrong cartridge for my printer. That was my good. Had to run to Walmart and buy hp 27 cause needed it right away. Would order again.

I've printed about 5 ea of the 4" binders of documents over this last year and have using our little DeskJet 3916. We have had this printer for years and use it a lot. It uses the HP 21 and HP 22 cartridges and I'm completely satisfied with the results. For receipts and stuff that I just need copies for filing away, I use the quick print and that saves time and ink but is still good quality that lasts. These inks don't seem to fade or smear or leak in my machine. I always get the multi-packs so I don’t run out of it. Sometimes there is also a good savings if you don’t have to pay shipping.
We are looking for a back up printer like the DeskJet 3916 so we can use the same cartridges with it too.
I would NOT suggest refilling them as the quality is poor. I've not tried any knock-offs because I'm very happy with my current results.

The # 21 HP ink cartridge is really just fine as are all HP cartridges I have purchased/used for many years. And the time involved to receive it was "just fine" as well. The low rating comes because apparently HP does not make the 701 cartridge anymore and does not have a compatible replacement for 701. The 701 fits my old and reliable model HP 2140 fax machine.....and is a FAX only! I loved it as it is small, fit in my office near the phone jack and for the last 10 years or so was used only once a month (with only 1 or 2 exceptions). My wife runs her own business from our home and as printers wore out, the newer ones included the fax as well. I kept the old 2140 for myself & the 701 ink would last nearly 3 years. Recently I could not get a 701 locally and your HP Cust. Ser. agent really worked & researched a lot to find something compatible to replace the old 701...Many thanks to her for her time and effort. Alas, the # 21 would not snap into place in my dear old HP 2140 Faxer. The small ridges on the top/front of the cartridge did not match up with the locking metal clip. And the Ele. contact pattern was different. I returned it as per HP's return procedure. I suppose my old 2140 fax must be retired as I have been for 9 years. The #21 ink had a great price as well. I have used refills in the past and they did not work well at all. I suppose I will turn in the old 2140 Faxer for recycle at my office supply store on my next trip there. Thank you for your time in reading this and rest assured the Palasky household will continue using HP hardware.

My aunt came and said that I had more ink in my old ink cartridge than my new ink cartridge. And I am not understanding that. But go figure. Recycled HP21 Cartridges
I did not like the refilled, recycled 21 cartridges. My F380 flatbed copier would not print black, and when used for regular printing, the black print was very light. Since receiving and installing the new HP21 cartridge in this latest order, the black copy function is working just fine.

I have the F380, dont print a great deal because of the cost of ink, The 380 is a good all-in-one so I have kept it, didnt dawn on me it might be the ink cartridge that's NOT SO GOOD. No more than I print it might dry up before I use it all anyway, dont take the chance.

New HP21 Black ink cartridge will Not work
I purchased a new HP21 Black Original ink cartridge, and my HP F380 printer will not accept it. I purchased 2 more HP21 Original ink cartridges, and my printer will not accept any of them. My investment in 3 defective HP ink cartridges would almost purchase a new printer. My printer works fine with my old cartridges, with no error message, but they are all out of ink. All 3 of these new HP21 ink cartridges are made in Malaysia, and they are obviously defective. If I can not purchase HP ink that my HP printer will accept, you can see that I might not purchase another HP printer.

Ordered my ink cartridge after 11pm on a Mon evening, by 4pm Tues it was already delivered, with free shipping, something that HP offers on all their ink purchases (not sure about other products). I have ordered their ink 4 or 5 times with the free 1 business day shipping and it always arrives the next day. Since my last order was placed after 11pm Mon I wasn't expecting it until Wed, but still got it Tues afternoon. The price of the ink is also several dollars less then buying locally. Will continue to always order my ink directly from HP site.

Even Less Ink Than Promised
Do not buy any printer that uses HP 21 ink. The cartridges cost over $15 each, even in multi-packs, and are only good for 100-150 pages of text (do not use for photos or they will only print 20-30 pages max).
As a result, my printer ink costs alone are over $1,000/year, even for light usage, and I need to reorder 4-packs at least every 3 weeks.
Our printer that uses HP 15 and HP 17 ink prints 3+ times as many pages per cartridge for less than twice the cost.
I also hear that Kodak printers are better quality and cost way less for ink, so am investigating getting one of those.

Ink cartridges are ink cartridges. How can you get excited about ink cartridges? The longer they last the better.
This one is for a small printer and therefore is a small cartridge and runs out quickly. I think they cost too much money for what you get. But that is the one I need and the price comparisons for the different places you can buy them are
within pennies of one another. Unless I get a new printer, which I won't do until this one breaks or you can't get the supplies you need for it, I am stuck buying this particular product.

I couldnt believe how fast and easy it was to order a replacement cartridge for my HP printer. It arrived within about 4 days. I could have gone to my local Walmart which would have involved using gas, taking time to find a parking spot, and then probably buying other things that I really didnt need. Ordering online was cheaper (the price and free shipping!) and so easy. I will definitely reorder from here when this cartridge runs out.

Quality vs Quanity
The print quality is great, however the usage is almost 20% greater using HP Ink vs. generic. Should make notation that ink purchased on Weekends will actually be delivered on Tuesday not Monday.

The cost of the cartridge alone is a little higher than you can get it from other sources, but when you figure in the next day shipping, you can't beat this for value!

I am delighted with HP laptops computers. I own three of them along with three HP printers. However, I have not had great experience with the printer cartridges. I recently had to replace my cartridges not because they were out of ink but because they failed to work while still containing substantial amounts of ink. I have had this experience in the past as well. I am going to explore the claims made by Kodak that their printers dramatically reduce printing costs. This is frustrating.

Doesn't live up to expectations
I just purchaes an HP-21 at Walmart in the Southglenn shopping center in Centennial Colorado yesterday. I have printed less than 50 pages and it is already running out of ink. This is the second time this has happened from the same place (guess it's just my bad)

I am puzzled by the question mark appearing in my HP assistant AP? I do not understand what they want or are asking me to do? Great ink.
I have not used it yet and it is usually great. I am not sure if this order will be good as the "mailman" laid it in the snow on the sidewalk. He couldn't even bother to put it in the mailbox so it wouldn't get wet. It was on the day we were getting a Nor'easter and if my husband hadn't gone out to check the recycle bin it would have been buried in the snow. The envelope was wet and the boxes of ink were damp. I am hoping the ink is okay. I am rating it on how it normally is as the "mailman's" failings are not HP's fault.

Great cartridge replacement

Ordered my black ink cartridge direct from HP
While trying to print out an income tax form I ran out of black ink. EZ Peazy to re-order directly from HP, shipped for free and I had my new cartridge in two days and cheaper than Target or Walmart. You really can't beat that convenience !

I like that i can buy ink and have it delivered to my door a day later. I have seen that the cartridges do not have a full container of ink. And sometimes the color is more dark gray than black.

I learned the hard way that one should purchase direct from HP for printer ink. I have tried the "remanufactured" cartridges' and 3rd party sales from other sources. I would not do that again. The remanufactured(refilled) ones lasted about 1/3 of their supposed printer ink life. The 3rd party new ones were out of date etc. You get what you pay for and buying from HP wasn't anymore expensive for their quality product.

Stay Away From HP
I ordered two HP21 ink cartridges. When I received my order I received one HP21 and one HP61. I got online and try as I might I could not find a number to call. I finally found a return request. I filled it out and three days later I got a response requesting I return the incorrect cartridge. That was not happening and I sent a response stating that. In about two days I received shipping info. No other response whatsoever. I am finished with HP..

Fewer printed pages than advertised
The HP inkjet cartridges we have purchased have consistently provided fewer printed pages than advertised. They seem to be "empty" before they really are out of ink. They also seem to "clog" and stop printing altogether if not used every few weeks. Only rarely will the "clean" routine unclog the print head. [Some other brands seem to be OK even after being idle for six or more months.]

The last two shipments of Ink Cartridge I've ordered the Ink Cartridges have been bad. Unable to use and get an Error message from printer. This time ordered two of them, one was just fine the other not. Unable to return because it's past the 30 days. Won't be purchasing from HP.

Nice, clear print. But these cartridges do dry out, so if you only use your printer sporadically, remove the cartridge and store it in a plastic zipper bag.

Hard to find these cartridges locally
Our newest printer requires that the original go through the paper tray, which means things have to be torn out of a book, magazine, notebook, etc. Our oldest printer is the kind you can lay the original flat on the copier & press a button. No need to tear the article out of anything. 21 black ink cartridges are no longer carried by retailers in my area so I must order them from HP. Only issues I have with the product is when the ink runs out, I must wait on cartridges to arrive & they don't come in XL's. I could order more when I put the 2nd cartridge of my order in, but I don't remember to do so.
