Best desktop scanner I've seen in a long while
I've standardized on the Canon DR-C230 for desktop document scanners for my company for 3 reasons. 1 The 60-sheet document feeder is an unusually large capacity for an entry level scanner and the high sides prevent pages from turning easily. Most desktop scanners I've seen over the last 12 years have very low or narrow sides. 2) The speed of up to 60 ipm (images per minute) is fast and helps productivity. 3) robustly scans multiple sizes and is good at not double-feeding. 4) Value - While close to the entry price for document scanners, I think the value of the product is much higher.
This scanner does not advertise to be space saving (though one might think this from the picture) but is still fairly compact. The eject tray does not have to be open to scan - It will slide the scanned document right out onto your desk.

Requires too much desk space to use!
Company upgraded from DR-C125 to DR-C230, what a disappointment. While it is much more quiet, it requires twice the desk space as the document eject tray must always be in open position! Causes much grief for many employees already working in tight quarters.

Takes up space
takes up too much desk space, tray has to be laid out flat which takes up work space if you don't have a lot
