Redesigned and rechargeable, Magic Trackpad 2 includes a built-in battery and brings Force Touch to the desktop for the first time. Four force sensors underneath the trackpad surface allow you to click anywhere, and detect subtle differences in the amount of pressure you apply, bringing increased functionality to your fingertips and enabling a deeper connection to your content. Magic Trackpad 2 also features an edge-to-edge glass surface area. This design, along with a lower profile, makes scrolling and swiping through your favorite content more productive and comfortable than ever. Magic Trackpad 2 pairs automatically with your Mac, so you can get to work right away. And the battery will power your Magic Trackpad 2 for about a month or more before needing a recharge.

I am happy with this purchase
In fact, I bought a second one to use in my home office.
I am a PC user who recently switched to using a Mac. I was a heavy right-clicker apparently, and I was never fully satisfied with using the mouse after switching. I bought this just to see if it works any better, and it does for me. I like that I can quickly navigate between applications using gestures.
My biggest complaint is with dragging things long distances. I run out of trackpad sometimes. With a mouse, I could hold the click and move the mouse. I have not figured out an equivalent yet with the trackpad.
Overall, I believe it has improved my productivity in comparison to a mouse.

Works well but not quite as well as the trackpad on a macbook pro
Functions great, is reliable, nice design, and stays fairly clean after use. The one gripe I have is that the 'feel' of the trackpad doesn't feel as good as the newer macbook pro's trackpad (2017+). Having said that, I really like that I can position it next to an external keyboard and maintain all of the functionality that comes with using a macbook.
Overall a great product and would definitely recommend to anyone who is using (or wants to use) an external keyboard with their laptop. If you only plan to use your macbook's builtin keyboard then I don't think this purchase is worth it. But pairing with the external macbook keyboard is a fantastic pairing that definitely increases productivity.

Nice features for a replacement to the original Magic Trackpad, but
The shape is now rectangle. I prefer to have the square shape back. But other than that, the new features are awesome. Rechargeable, has a noticeable on off switch, (previous version you had to hunt for it if you didn't read the manual), wedge shape is easier to use.
Setup was super easy, just attach via lightning cable to your mac, let the mac recognize it, unplug (after charging) and boom.

Apple Magic Trackpad 2 - the best got even better
This Apple Magic Trackpad allows me to keep my fingers relaxed and still act quickly. It can be placed on the right or left side of the keyboard naturally without having to re-train my brain. I am right-handed but use my left hand to control it to avoid the number pad or any other keys typically placed on the right side of the keyboard. The version 2 works even better than the previous one and currently there is no direct competition in the market.

Solid, large trackpad
I love having the larger size of this trackpad, as well as its mobility. I like to elevate my laptop so it's higher (less strain on my neck), but also like to have the trackpad on the desk, so my forearms are horizontal. The battery on this lasts forever and charges extremely quickly.

Great product
Great overall. But at times it does disconnect for no reason and it takes a little while to reconnect by itself.
