Better than expected
I have used this for about 5 months now. I bought it on the recommendation I saw in an industry magazine article. I am not disappionted. I use all the features - printing, copying, faxing and scanning. They all work well. The duplexing also works great. Yes, it is expensive but it is well worth it. Dell ordering and delivery is fast and flawless.

Excellent purchase from Dell.
Excellent ordering and shipping from Dell. This the second unit purchased from them. I have one in my office and another at my home office. Fit and finish is excellent. Color and B & W copies are both clear and the print is well defined. The only criticism I might have is about the two year supply of ink. Depends on what you are printing and how much you print.

Supertank, you won't be disappointed!
Supertank. When I first heard this term being used for this printer, I just figured it would be oversized containers connected to the side of the printer like I've seen in other devices in Epson's ET series. I was surprised to learn that it indeed refers to a much larger container of ink residing in a drawer at the bottom of the printer. This printer ships with 2, yes TWO year supply of ink (based on average printing, mileage may vary). In the box is a two pack of black ink, and three each of the Cyan, Magenta, Yellow inks.
Unboxing and setting the printer up was mostly effortless. It has a large 250 sheet capacity paper tray that will handle up to 8.5" x 14" (legal) size paper, and an 80 sheet rear tray that theoretically can handle 8.5" x 44" paper for panorama photo prints or those really long spreadsheets. Duplexing, printing on both sides, is quiet and fast. Document scanning from either the flatbed or the document feeder (ADF) is fast and it'll scan both sides on the ADF enabling copying or faxing or scanning from double-sided documents a breeze. A large selection of settings for quality or page options will enable the best quality of scans you desire. Once Epson's software is set up on a PC, scanning from documents to a PDF, e-mail, or network folder can be accomplished with a push of a button.
Print quality, like other Epson products I've used in the past, is quite good, more than adequate for an office environment. To get better quality for photos and high quality media would require stepping up to Epson's professional line of photo printers, but that's beyond the scope of this review. Print output was crisp & clean and there was no smearing or other quality artifacts in any of the prints I tested. Both inbound and outbound faxing, while of limited use nowdays with e-mail and social networks, was excellent.
The 'Supertank' technology is relatively new to the market but it's coming from Epson who has pioneered and successfully implemented the EcoTank tech in both their consumer and WorkForce printer lines. I see it as nothing less than a great cost saving for the consumer or business owner in the end. “This is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

Very powerful, easy to set up!!
The size of this printer and the features had me a little apprehensive about set up. I took it out of the box, removed the wrapping, and followed the instructions. I was set up and running in a matter of minutes.
I really like the design of the ink pouches. No ink to spill or refill. The pouches are large and I expect the would last a long time. The printer even came with extra pouches.
The print quality is amazing. The scanner is just as amazing. The printer operates fast!
I love the touchscreen. The printer is so easy to use. The controls are intuitive and easy to navigate.
Overall I would say the printer is a great value.

Forget about laser printers!
Epson's WorkForce Pro ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Supertank Printer is a top-of-the-line machine in a series of small business printers designed to give laser printers a serious run for their money. And with fast print speeds, high-quality output and the amazing EcoTank ink system, Epson's printer should easily meet the demands that any small office can throw at it.
All of the stand-alone operations on this beast are handled through the 4.3-inch color touch screen. The menus are easy to navigate and intuitive. There is also numeric keypad, which is handy for stand-alone faxing.
The ET-8700 prints sharp text on plain paper, practically laser quality. Text looked noticeably crisp, sleek and dark, on a par with what I'd expect from a quality laser printer.
Graphics also printed very attractively on Epson's printer, with sharp details, accurate colors and nice mid-tone gradations. Glossy photos printed onto glossy photo paper looked very detailed, and colors were pleasantly saturated.
All-in-all this office powerhouse is a joy to use, a reliable companion, and with it's ink system and multiple paper trays, its super easy to maintain. 2 thumbs up from me!

Feature-Loaded printer that really does it all!
This is a review of the Epson WorkForce Pro ET-8700 EcoTak All-In-One Supertank printer. This printer is amazing! We spent a week using this machine as much as possible in order to determine it’s quality.
The printer quality is fantastic! If you use it to printer any photos and you’re looking for higher quality, up the quality in the printer options (I noticed on the lowest setting, it had white lines every inch or so, but upping the quality solved that right away. That was only noticeable on full-page photos too. The printer itself does not have any cartridges per-se; they’re more like ink-bags and are considerable in size compared to an ink cartridge. The “bags” were very high-quality and I had 0 concerns that they would break or leak at any point. The print speed is fast and even when the unit is in sleep mode, the time to get a page out of the printer is faster than my old laserjet printer by a mile!
The scanner works very well (we have it scanning to a 2 different Drobo NAS devices over SMB). Scanning over SMB works well and was setup without issue. The document feeder did not struggle running anything through it; even pages that previously has staples in them.
It handled copies very well as well. The document feeder was fantastic, and we have yet to have any jams.
If I had to say anything “bad” about the printer at all; I’d say the software isnt great. The software does everything you’d want it to compared to other printers I’ve used, but most of it feels dated and seems like it has not really kept up with the times. It also has several prompts that while you’ll understand them once you read them, they’re a little technical for the average user or small business user. Do not get me wrong though, there is nothing wrong with the software, it’s just the one area that felt a little weak with this product.
Overall, I’d say I’m very satisfied with this printer and would suggest it in a heartbeat to any full-time work from home or small business person(s). The network capabilities of this printer make it ideal for having a single printer in the office that could meet the needs of multiple employees. Best Printer I've Owned
Installation was incredibly easy. I pulled off a TON of blue shipping tape and plugged it in and that's pretty much it. The only minor hiccup was that the tape holding in the ink trays was a bit tricky but pulling out the paper tray helped. I kept thinking that it would have to be harder but no, it was pretty much as simple as plugging it in.
Initial thoughts on running the first test. This is the fastest, best printer I've ever owned. I decided to print a full page photo on the first print and it came out looking great in about three seconds. I was throwing a party I expected children at so I printed a few coloring sheets and then ran them through the copier, all very fast and easy.
I mostly ran tests on photos/scanning or on simple document printing. For the scanner I both used the built in Epson utility and tried scanning direct to a usb drive plugged into the printer. They both worked well though it was faster/easier to use the scanning software. Sometimes I run a Linux desktop, and that's when I'd used the usb drive.
For the standard document printing I've had to do so far, it's mostly just black and white or grey scale. It's almost, but not quite as good as the laser printer I have but I've also been using eco mode too. It remains fast. A double sided 30 page document was done in just under 90 seconds.
My wife was a kindergarten teacher and has spent a number of years in grad school. Due to both of those I've purchased many printers trying to find one that just works well, fast and will get the job done. I've bought black and white laser, color laser, a number of ink jets. I've tried printers from $80 on sale up to $400 models and I've had problems with all of them over time. So far this printer has been the best of the batch.
Pros:
- Very fast.
- Photos printed with crisp detail and almost right up to the edge of the paper.
- Scanning software worked well and easily in Windows
Cons:
- Slightly loud when running
- Blue standby light was fairly bright
- Pretty expensive up front (though likely not as much as other printers over time)

Love it!
Pretty sweet printer! It scans, copies & prints in great quality. It holds a lot of paper in its tray but also allows for top feed for one off odd sizes. Printing is pretty quick and you also have the ability to turn on quiet mode which slows printing SLIGHTLY but trades a little noise for a little less speed.
The printer was easy to setup using the. Wifi was super easy to get connected. This thing holds PLENTY of ink and the ink container is sealed in what does indeed look like a caprisun drink container.
I highly recommend it to anyone that needs a home office size printer.

Solid Printer
This is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.
The Epson ET-8700 printer is one big solid printer. The set up was fast and easy, the longest part was taking off all the shipping tape. I love how solid the printer feels, reminds me of the printers I use in the office and it does it all. Don't know if I will ever use the fax though, I don't even have a home line. It would be better if they partnered with a fax over internet service. The touchscreen is very useful and is a perfect size. I had it connected to the router fast and easy and was printing from my phone in no time. I love that the printer comes with extra ink so you don't have to worry about running out. I look forward to using this printer

The best inkjet you can buy!
This is a review for the Epson WorkForce Pro ET-8700. My overall impressions of this printer are that this is the best ink jet printer, scanner, fax machine that I have ever had the pleasure of using. I usually despise using inkjet printers as the ink is expensive, they only come with a trial setup of ink, and requires refilling constantly. This printer changes that. With its Ecotank setup, it allows you to print up to 16k black pages and 11k color pages out of the box. It came with a total of 9x color cartridges and 2x black cartridges straight out of the box. I’ve been printing for a week straight with black and color and I’ve barely begun to use the ink. That’s awesome.
Setup of the printer took a little longer than usually because Epson really wanted this printer to stay safe. It is securely mounted in its box and more tape is on this printer holding it together in the box than I’ve ever seen. That’s a good thing. Once I had all the tape off it and had it booted up, I immediately had it check for a firmware update and I updated it. This should be done with every piece of electronics that has a smart function to it. Not once in my uses did I have the printer error out (unless it was me selecting wrong paper sizes). Connection was easily done with this printer. It has options for Ethernet, usb, wireless, wireless direct, and nfc. Plus it has setup for fax.
The look of this printer is great. It has a nice 4.3 inch color touchscreen that is responsive to touch and the software doesn’t lag. It’s intuitive to use and just works without issues. With what the printer comes with, you can load 250 pages of paper in the tray and another 80 in the rear feed. The printer also has a self-feed function for scanning and faxing. I love this feature as I despise having to manually send or scan one page at a time. It also does dual sided scanning, printing, and faxing. Another benefit as it saves time, ink, and paper.
In terms of printing quality, this is another win for it. Once I figured out what to change in settings, I was printing photo quality pictures without issues. Photo quality from a business class printer that has large ink stores is amazing. It changes how I’ll be setting up my printers at home as I’ve always had 2. A laser printer for mass printing black and white and an ink jet for pictures. Now I can just have one printer that does it all.
In summary, this is an amazing printer that truly does it all. It has the benefits of laser printers in that it can print thousands of pages without needing ink all while having better quality. It also has a great scanner and fax setup that just works. Its looks great with a responsive screen and software that doesn’t lag. I highly recommend this printer.

More Than I Expected
Granted this review is based on a short amount of time spent with this all-in-one printer (5 days)…but wow I’m really impressed!
Let me start this right from the set up process because that can be a big obstacle for people, especially those not technically inclined and it becomes a major source of frustration, BEFORE you even get to the functionality. I use a printer for both work related and personal task and I’ve had printers that I liked a lot (eventually) but the set up was poorly done; complicated set up, poor directions, repeated steps, etc
BUT NOT WITH THIS PRINTER!
The set up was a breeze. I mean there is a lot of unpacking to be done but once all the tape and cardboard protection is removed the time I spent from placing the unit down to actual use was not more than 15 to 20 minutes if that.
The simple start up directions were super clear and software install on my Mac took very little time. I must admit the part I was dreading was the Wi-Fi network set up because I think everyone will agree that not all Wi-Fi enabled devices “play nice” with your router and network set up. SO, it was with much trepidation that I went through the wireless setup, only to discover that my fears were for naught, as the process and connection could not have been easier.
Ok, so with the unit set up, how does it print, scan, copy and fax? Well in a word, GREAT! Very impressed.
Printing and copying in black and white (which I do mostly) is very fast and the printing is crisp with no smudging whatsoever, what you might expect from a high end printer like this (as good as the laser printer I just had) The color printing results however were astounding. Files printed clearly with vivid colors and detail….and that was just on plain paper. The results on photo quality specialty papers blew me away. Also the printer has a very cool feature, a rear paper cassette (in addition to the main cassette) that holds special papers and sizes. So rather than having to remove plain paper and put in photo or specialty papers and sizes, you can load them in the rear cassette.
For me, scanning is an important requirement, so I need an all-in-one unit to have the ability to easily scan many pages quickly with very good output quality. I can say that the 8700 more than meets that requirement along with a scanning interface that is simple to set up and use.
As far as Faxing, I don’t have a land-line and instead use a fax service, therefore I can’t comment on the 8700”s Fax capabilities. But that said, the fax service does necessitate taking docs you want to fax and making scanned copies to your desktop which you then upload to the service and in that regard I go back to the units great scanning capability which results in very clear sent faxes.
Finally, I’m new to the eco-tank concept as I had been using a laser printer. Quite frankly I was tired of replacing the ink cartridges so often so I wasn’t keen on ink jet printers….but the 8700 is very different. The 4 separate ink tanks were very easy to install and hold a huge amount of ink. Also, included with the printer were 3 ink tanks for each color; basically 2 extra ink tanks for each color! According to Epson that’s enough to print 16,000 B&W pages and 12,000 color pages! YES you read that right, right out of the box the 8700 will print thousands of pages before replacement ink is necessary.
As the statement below indicates, I was provided this printer free of charge to do a review, however having used it, if it hadn’t been free, I would have bought it.

Just as good as a Monochrome Laser Printer but in COLOR!
I have always loved my brother MFC laser printer and the EcoTank comes very close! When I first received the package I taken back by the size and the weight of this, but excited at the same time. I quickly opened and unwrapped the printer like a kid on Xmas morning! The printer is pretty large but not bigger than your usual laser printers. The setup took about 10 minutes and was super easy. The entire setup is pretty self explanatory, but you can go through the software setup which guides you through everything.
Using the printer was the real test. Although I like my laser printers, the inkjet quality always great! The only thing inkjet generally lack is that the ink either runs out too fast or dries if you do not use it. This is a fast printer and I would definitely recommend it. As far as the ink and the supply goes, it would need to be tested a little longer. I hope that it does not dry out if the printer is not used for a while. If the ink really does last 2 years then its definitely a keeper! This is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

A true workhorse printer for a small business or home office
The Epson Workforce Pro ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer will certainly meet the needs for most high-print demand small home office or business users if they can get over the ridiculously long name and come to terms with the hefty price tag..
Let’s touch on the price to start with, $999.99, is what you will find most places. This comes with an extremely capable printer\fax\copier\scanner, with two years of ink supplies included in the box. Epson defines two years as up to 16,000 pages black/11,000 pages color according to an ISO standard, which will probably stretch for most home users to three years depending on volume. The warranty covers a year or 150,000 sheets (whichever comes first) and you can double this by registering the printer with Epson, so two years or 150,000 pages. Pretty stout in my opinion.
Now the setup of the printer for the most part was simple. You do have to pull off about a mile of tape holding all the various doors, tanks, trays, and covers in place, but the packaging more than sufficient to keep the printer unmarked through shipping. The ink packs were honestly the best improvement over the previous models of Eco-Tanks, because there is no more mess in trying to fill the tanks and subsequently spilling the ink all over the printer, desk, carpet, and then getting kick out of the house by your wife to live as a bump on the street with your printer. There are four trays (black, cyan, magenta and yellow), and the pouches have keyed mounts and slide perfectly into the tray. You get a nice lock engagement knowing the trays are seated putting one’s mind at easy about spilling ink. Once a new ink pack is installed the charging (it sounds like Iron Man’s Repulsors) is about 5 minutes.
On to the question on everyone’s mind, “How is the printing?” Well let’s just say it is faster than most any other liquid based printers I have tested. On average it was about 20-22 pages of B&W text per minute single sided and 14-16 pages duplexed. The color\photo printing was obviously slower, 18 pages a minute or so single sided, and I didn’t duplex the photos. Also, I loaded some 5x7 glossy in the rear tray, which turned out just Okay. The colors ran a little more than I would have liked, not as crisp as expected.
Speaking of the rear tray it can hold up to 80 sheets of regular paper, slightly lower for the premium stock, card stock, and gloss. Also, it will accommodate other media including photo paper, envelopes, card stock, etc. Personally, I found this feature of keeping an alternate set of stock loaded in the printer always, for me it is the 5x7 glossy, rather than having to remove/adjust/reload the main feed tray.
Let’s move to the one or two things I honestly didn’t like or had problems with. The packaging was pretty excessive, like miles of tape holding everything in place. This might have been necessary, but that was the longest part of the unpackaging. The next problem is how the ink is packaged. You have a box and in the box, you have a bag and a warning pamphlet. In the bag, you have another bag. In THAT bag you have the ink pouch and an instruction pamphlet. This is for EACH color so 14 times the waste. Finally, the biggest problem was setting up the Google Cloud Print. You have an option on the touchscreen to register, however when you set that it gives you an error... So, you try and set it up with the software (which is awful) loaded on your Windows PC, however it still gives you an error. You must go to the Web Interface of the printer to register the Google Cloud Print. However, once it is registered I have had no problems using it.
Overall, I find this printer to be a true workhorse of a printer, with all these glorious features that for the most part just work without any prompting or setup. In my defense I did not test the faxing capabilities since I do not have a landline anymore. I would give this a 4 out of 5 due to a few little hiccups, but would recommend this to a friend or business needing a printer of this quality and capacity. Please be aware: This is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Awesome Printer
My family and I have been using this printer for about a week now and we LOVE IT! I downloaded the Epson iPrint app for android and printed everything from homework for my daughter to pictures that I put into frames and we could not be happier.
The quality of the photo prints was amazing; as we used a premium photo paper and adjusted the quality of the printer inside of the mobile app. For the homework and math reviews that I printed using regular printer paper, there was no smudging or smearing.
Additionally, the setup was extremely simple. The printer is touchscreen and when establishing your WiFi connection it even has a keyboard on the screen, thus making it that much easier to enter in your password. After setting up dozens of printers in my office over the years, I have grown accustomed to pressing the number keys multiple times to enter in each letter and the of course backspacing because I hit the number button too many times, or conversely not enough. It's crazy that this is the first printer that I have used to actually utilize a keyboard on the touchscreen itself to expedite the process.
The ink packages are a wonderful addition too. They might be in a little bit larger packaging, but they offer a bag type system instead of the tiny little cartridges or the horrible toner cartridges that leak powder all over the place during installation and removal, thus allowing for more ink and less overall waste. This also allows you to print a lot more in between cartridge changes.
We print a lot at my house and have gone through 2 reams of paper in a week, as my 7 year old prints whatever strikes her fancy; especially pictures to color and proudly display in her room and my fridge, and my bedroom, and my mother-in-law's room, and near the dog bowls, and the doors in my home...well you get the picture.
Lastly, the scan quality is extremely good as well. After scanning in a few pictures and a lot of documents, I'm very pleased with its overall functionality, intuitiveness, and cost effective nature.
I would be remiss if I did not tell you about it's faults though. It is OVER-PACKAGED. I pulled off and balled up about a 3" diameter of tape strips, as ever component is taped up to secure during transit. And...I think that is about it.
Overall, you will be extremely happy with this printer; whether you are a small business owner or a busy family like me.

Epson 8700 Eco Tank review
This is a fantastic All In One for several reasons.
The Epson 8700 is the newest addition to their small business minded line up. It offers a great many features for an all in one at this price point. Some features a consumer should come to expect with technology where it is, and again at this price point. NFC printing, google cloud printing, etc..side note, the printer does have its own email address. That was a new spin for me, and great to have.
The setup was quick, and straightforward. Although it slightly differs between installing directly to a user’s computer via usb, and adding the AIO over Wi-Fi. Nothing to write home about, but the ocd in me wondered if there was a hiccup during the install process. Needless to say, it wasn’t. The fax set up was straightforward. There is a phone connection in for those that share the line between talking and faxing. Nothing new, but cool. The 4.3” touchscreen LCD makes for maneuvering the settings effortlessly. I don’t have to sit at a user’s computer to check settings like ink levels, etc…
Speaking of ink levels, you get 2 YEARS OF INK folks!!! That’s included in the box!! I repeat 2 YEARS OF INK!! Now let us do some math. That is about $700 in ink alone. I changed my mind. You do the math of what you are paying for. I’ll wait. lol….Now, let’s go back and look at the features shall we: up to 16,000 pages black/11,000 color. 24 ISO ppm (black/color) print speeds, plus fast scan speeds, a 250-sheet paper capacity, 80-sheet rear tray and optional 500-sheet tray, 4.3" color touchscreen as mentioned earlier, connectivity via Ethernet, Wi-Fi Direct, and NFC, duplexing, auto feed duplex color scanning (not listed in the promo materials), etc..whew, but wait there’s more.
Ok, I get that I’m starting to sound like a game host, but bear with me we’re almost done. The reason you invest in a piece of hardware or tech is for performance. None of the aforementioned attributes matter if this thing can’t print, and print at a high quality. Scanning and copying quality is better than I expected for an inkjet. It is clear, the colors are replicated well on screen, and the print result is great. Now, what we’ve all been waiting…How’s the print quality? Stunning. THERE IS NO NEED TO OUT SOURCE YOUR PRINT JOBS FOR 2 YEARS!! I have printed color and B&W photos on EPSON paper, brochure materials on Epson specialty paper etc. Get Epson specialty paper. The outputs are amazing. This is straight from the printer without calibrating the paper with my Color monkey paper setup, and icc profiles. I kid you not. Amazing. P.S. the software auto updater makes it a snap to have the latest updates.
Why would you buy anything else? Laser or otherwise.

Solid Business Class Printer
This review is for the Epson WorkForce Pro ET-8700 EcoTank printer. EcoTank printers turn the traditional cheap printer with expensive ink business model upside down. This printer costs a fair amount up front, but ink refills should be less expensive per page than traditional ink printers.
The ink packs are easy to install, just shake the packs a few times, remove them from the packaging, and snap into place in the printer. The high-capacity color ink packs that came with the printer are rated for 5,000 pages, while the extra-high capacity pack for black is rated for 10,000 pages. The printer comes with three packs of each type of color ink and two black packs.
Setting up the unit was straightforward, but a little bit time consuming due to a large number of tape pieces securing the various components during shipment. The printer connected to my wireless network without problems.
One nice thing about this model is that it can update its firmware via its menu system. It’s a lot easier than downloading software to a PC and then uploading to the printer.
The printer has a web interface that you can connect to with a browser on your network. The device appears to have a number of options related to device security, access control, LDAP integration, and many other settings that would be used in an office environment who needs more control over printer settings.
Print quality seems decent and noise is reasonable for this type of printer. The printer also has a quiet mode for those needing it.
Windows 10 was able to find the printer on the network and connect to it, however you can only access basic printer settings unless you download Epson's drivers instead of whatever is included with Windows.
I've only had this printer for a few days, but my general impression is that this is a solidly built printer designed for an office environment.

Powerful and Easy to Use!
The Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One-Printer is a very powerful and easy to use all in one printer. For my small office printing, copying, and faxing needs using a PC, Mac, and iPhone/iPad devices was a dream come true!
I had no problem setting it up with my wireless network, iPhone or iPad. Instructions for basic set up were included with the unit, and an easy to use set up CD was also available to me. Basically with this unit, you will need to plug it in and only answer a few questions for basic set up, then you are good to go!
The printer itself is very easy to use, the display screen provides simply icons that would be easy for those both technology savvy and those who are still struggling with new technology. The ink and paper were easy to load, and the print quality is amazing, printing multicolor flyers for events I never experienced any problems with the print quality my flyers looked like they came directly from the print shop. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone with a home office, or anyone who would like to print quality images at home rather than paying a print shop to do the work for you. Powerhouse for the home office
What attracted me to this printer is Epson's EcoTank line. The cost per page is much lower than printers I've purchased in the past, both laser and inkjet. With the Eco tank system, I won't need to search for a DIY/hack to refill proprietary printer cartridges that claim to be empty but are printing well after the "empty" warnings. The touchscreen on this device makes device setup and access to functionality very easy. Wifi setup was fast and the interface was simple. During initial setup, there may be some pumping sounds coming from the printer, but if that's what it takes to squeeze every last drop of ink out of the refillable cartridges, then I'm more than OK with that. The duplex printing capability is a real upgrade for the home office.
Day to day utilization of this printer is great. The wireless printing function from Android mobile devices using the Epson iPrint app is more useful than one would think. Also adding this printer on several of our Windows 7 and 10 machines was straightforward and works exactly as expected. This printer is also capable of using cloud printing services and we never have to wonder if the cloud print was successful when you're away from the printer. Using Epson's glossy photo paper we are able print photos at home for around $0.16 per photo and have photos available immediately without having to wait for shipping. Scanning functionality is fast. Amazing Printer for a small or medium sized business!
Boy is this thing a BEAST! Truly an office printer in every shape and form. It is designed to be a daily printer and scanner and with it's 2 paper trays and scanning tray up top. I love the fact that I can just put a stack of documents on top, us the huge touch screen on the front to scan copy or fax the documents and do it in an amazingly fast amount of time. Also, the automatic double sided printing is a VERY nice feature to have that is not available on all that many printers.
The speed at which this printer can scan and print documents is outstanding. I am thoroughly impressed every time I go to use it.
There are two stand out features for me: Eco Tank and Wireless printing:
One of the biggest annoyances with printers I have had in the past is the fact that they always came with "starter" ink. After a month or so of printing it was time to buy ink again. No more with this printer it comes with SO MUCH ink. 2 years worth is no lie....you would really have to work hard to use it all in less time.
Wireless printing just makes it so easy to connect from any networked device to print to this printer. Laptops, Smartphones, tablets, everything can just easily print to this printer!
All in all I am extremely impressed with this printer. It is a solid printer for anyone, but can really handle the every day usage that offices/small businesses would have. This will be used in my home office for years to come.

A very powerful Epson printer, and the perfect size!
This is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I have had many Epson printers over the years - I gravitate toward Epson and Brother. This model has all of the standard things you would expect in an Epson. Speed. High quality laser printer-like outputs, good connectivity with wifi and easy installation. But what I like best about this model is its manageable size. You don't need to dedicate another room to it and still get multiple formats, double-sided - everything you could want. Just more manageable. Definitely my top Epson so far.

Home Office Super Genie
The Epson Eco Tank All-in-one is a great welcome for the home office. I was able to use it comfortably, without having to go through a learning curve. The ability to scan and print in different sizes, especially, A4, as hotel receipts from Asia can be in A4 File size, and generally, I have to trim them otherwise. ADF is especially helpful in such a case
The fax functionality is great, especially, at times for legal requirements, its preferable to fax over send an email, as the delivery report is proof of delivery. The ability to hold 250 pages is also helpful, as it's easier to load and to forget. Some printers have a limitation of 100 pages, and in such cases, we need to refill every week, here it should be about twice a month.

Perfect for my Home-Office!
I was looking specifically for a printer that would work well for my home office. I have been debating between an inkjet and laser printer. Pros and cons to each, but for me running out of ink so quickly was the biggest con. The EcoTank doesn’t use cartridges, it uses pouches of ink. It comes with two each of the XL black pouches and three each of the color pouches. This machine is a work horse and has all the features I’ve found in the very expensive commercial printers. This printer sets up as easy as a home printer, but it doesn’t act like one. It’s sturdy, extremely fast and I just like the way it looks, which is important to me, especially for a home office. This printer uses a touch screen and it is extremely responsive. There is nothing cheap feeling about this printer. The paper tray holds 250 pages and it has a manual feed tray that can accept any size paper, including a stack of photo paper. Images can be printed directly from a flash drive via the USB port on the front of the printer. The text and photo print quality of this printer look perfect to me, and I am extremely picky. For photos, it does not have that weird inverse affect when you hold glossy photos at certain angles, like some printers do. The look is even across the entire picture. The scanner also produces professional results and will produce a PDF that looks every bit as good as the original document. Some scanners will add a gray haze to the document, this one does not.
I set my printer up on Wi-Fi then connected it to my Google Cloud Print account, which allows me to print from literally anywhere. This is a must have feature for me. The other features I instantly utilized were scanning to network folders and scanning to email, all of which were easy to configure. The printer uses a contact directory, so you can put all of your contacts and network locations in to it for scanning or sending documents/pictures. The printer and scanner functions are both full duplex, another must have feature for me. Printing is lightning fast, but the duplex scanner does not scan both sides at the same time like I was hoping. The one other thing I found lacking in this printer was the ability to print borderless pictures. There is a small white border around my 4x6 photos, which was a little disappointing. The good thing is that I can specify the paper type for the manual feed tray, which allows me to send pictures to the printer and it will automatically print from the correct tray without having to remove paper from the main tray. Although I received this printer for free to test, this is an honest review. Fast, Reliable and Great Printing
This is the third printer we have used for our business. All have been Epson, and all have been a tremendous improvement. My first printer was a basic printer that I thought would be enough for company. I quickly realized that the printer was not designed for heavy printing. The inks cartridges were costly and did not last long.
Enter the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank. This printer has been nothing but a joy. Taking the printer out of the packaging it was clear this is a serious printer. For the size of the printer it the actual footprint is not that large, and it fits comfortably on a small side table. The printer was secured with dozens of blue tape pieces that held everything securely in place for shipping. It was a pain to remove all these pieces, but this is a one time task. Setting up the printer with my Windows 10 laptop was very easy. The directions were clear and simple except when inserting the ink. It wasn't clear that a piece had to be removed for the ink to fit.Two years worth of ink come in the box.The included software walked me through the installation and the upgrade of the printer's firmware. The entire software process took roughly 12 minutes. When the install finished, the magic began.
This printer is fast. The test page was printed almost instantly. Faster than any of the big office printers I have used. I have only had this printer for a short period of time, but I can already tell I will love it. For the next two years I can print and print without any worry about running out of ink. I would recommend this printer to anyone that needs to do a lot of printing or just wants a workforce that won't need any ink for two years.

Epson Small to Mid sized Office printer
Epson 8700 Eco Tank review. My first impressions of the 8700 printer is that it is clearly a large office grade printer. From packing to assembly, this printer is built very well. The Main paper drawer “A”, for example, is built better than allot of other laser printers I have installed recently for the company I work for. The only drawback in design of the paper handling would be the sheet feeder in back. It would be preferable to have the support handle a legal-size paper. Right now, it hangs over the edge of the printer. The other option would be to purchase the optional 500 sheet second tray which would be wise for a large office.
Epson has done it again. I have an older model of Eco tank printer and the newly engineered ink pouches are both easier to install and do not require gloves. Once the pouches were installed, the charging time to fill the wells was half as long as earlier models.
One of the first things I always check is the firmware version prior to installing any software on PCs or laptops. The WF-8700 allowed me to update the firmware from the general setting\system administration menu on the printer. The firmware update took 15 minutes and the printer re-started with no problems.
Another thing I really like about this printer is the scan to network/email feature which allows users to scan to their email or to a network share. Both features worked seamlessly and to test I scanned a picture to the shared drive, loaded ultra-glossy 24-pound paper in the sheet feeder and printed the picture. Amazing quality. It worked just as well from the scan to email and then print. Besides regular printing, this is the biggest use of multi-function printers in the large office environment. Epson just plain gets it
The 4.3 LCD is very user friendly. Just about anything you want to do with the printer is available through a few options one of the eight menu options. I did turn off the sound after rolling though the screens a few times.
Overall, I would highly recommend this printer for the ease of setup, extremely fast, clear output and very solid design.

Great all-around, versatile printer that will meet all of your printing needs.
As I received the printer, the size of the box made me feel like that setting up the printer would be a daunting task. In fact, the installation and the configuration of the printer was just the opposite. After it took some time to remove the printer from box and remove all of the tape and packaging, the installation of the ink packs, the initialization and WiFi configuration of the printer, the firmware update and the installation of the Epson iPrint app on my iPhone was quick and painless. All-in-all, from opening the printer box to printing the first test page, that whole process took about 45 minutes.
I was amazed at the speed in which the printer printed, not only in black and white but surprisingly in color as well. By the time that I walked across the room, the documented had already printed and in color no less. The quality of the prints were excellent. A lot of this depends on the paper that it is being printed on. Needless to say, the speed and the quality of the printing was spectacular!
I love the fact that this printer does not use ink cartridges. The "EcoTank" system used in the ET-8700 uses ink pouches. Epson includes 2 XL black ink pouches and 3 ink pouches for each of the other colors. Out of the box, there is enough ink to last 2 years Epson claims. Of course the mileage of the ink pouches will vary depending on your printing needs. It's good knowing that I'm not wasting my money by having to always be buying ink cartridges. It's also good knowing I'm using less resources. This is the reason why I will continue buying the EcoTank system of products from Epson in the future. All other companies should follow Epson's lead.
Scanning is wonderful and very convenient. Not only do you have the ability to configure and scan documents using the flat bed scanner but you also have the ability to scan using the rear document feeder. You also have the multitude of options on where to send scans from the printer itself and from the Epson iPrint app on your mobile device. The quality of the scans were fantastic!
The printer also copies documents very well. Just place the document on the flatbed scanner or through the document feeder and the printer will print the copies one-sided or double-sided quickly and with great print quality.
The mobile app allows me to manage printing capabilities from my phone. I can send photos or documents to be printer from my phone. I can preview scans and save scans using my phone. The app is pretty versatile for the functions that I need it to do. The look of the interface isn't all the best but for me that's easily overlooked.
Cliche as it may sound, but all-in-all, this all-in-one printer is a workhorse of a printer that is a wonderful all-around printer to have in a busy household or small office that will meet the needs of everyone and satisfy any printing, copying, faxing, scanning that they may need. The quality of the scans and items printed in amazing! The speed at which documents are printed is incredible! Anyone looking for a printer that meets all of these needs should look no further. The Epson WorkForce Pro ET-8700 EcoTank All-In-One printer is a must have!

Great Printer, Very Fast, Extremely Quiet
I previously had the Epson ET-3600 and while I liked it for ink wells rather than cartridges, it was pretty slow and loud. The ET8700 fixes both of those issues. The ink is in bladders rather than bottles, so it's not messy at all. It's also extremely quiet when printing. I used to have to mute my calls if someone was printing while I was on the phone. Not so with this printer, as you can barely hear it when it's printing.
I also appreciate how scanning can scan directly to several cloud providers rather than needing a computer nearby. This makes sharing and filing scanned documents a breeze. This is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Excellent Printer
My first experience with the printer
I was a little surprised at the weight of the printer when it arrived. The package weighted around 52 lbs and unboxing it would have been a little smoother with two people. But, all things considered it was packaged very well.
As soon as I unboxed it, I noticed the ink cartridges. I like them MUCH better than printers I have used in the past. The ink cartridges are self-contained in what seems to be airtight bags that can be loaded quiet easily in pullout bins in the front of the printer. I did not know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised on how easy it was to load the ink. Once loaded it did take a few minutes for the printer to fully charge the ink cartridge.
I did have some trouble with the power. The printer would not turn on initially. I had to mess with the power cord and its connection from the base of the printer to seat the power cable properly in the base of the printer. It took a few minutes to wiggle the cable to get the power on. Since I did not experience any other power issues, again it seems like something to just look out for instead of anything particularly negative about the printer.
I noticed others had some trouble with drivers. I actually had no issues with that. I did not use the CD though. Instead, I let Windows find the printer and it worked without any hiccups. I also have a MACbook. Setting up the printer was easy once I managed to get on the same wireless network.
The 4” screen is pretty nice. It is intuitive and I really have no need for the web interface anymore. That is a blessing. Everything is available to me on the touch screen. The software is intuitive which I can appreciate. I have had some horror stories with past printers and their software.
I used the tray on top to scan some documents. It’s fast. Really fast. I originally made the mistake of increasing the scan quality to the maximum, which turned out to be too large to email. I reduced them to 600 DPI, overkill for black and white work documents.
You get an email for the printer If you register the printer with the Ebson website. This is really cool as I can just email print jobs to my printer from wherever.
I printed about 75 full-page pictures. They were beautiful with high levels of detail, but I did seem to have some unattractive print lines in each of the images.
Overall, the cost of this printer requires a significant investment for home and small businesses but its well worth the cost. If you can afford the cost, this printer is an excellent option and one that I am happy to have. This is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

The Best All-in-One Printer I Have Ever Owned
Having tried or used numerous printers throughout my life I have never come across a printer quite like the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One printer. This machine is what I have always wanted in a printer. Upon immediately taking everything out of the box it is clear that Epson took the time and care to properly package and label everything. I put it on the desk in my office and the sleek black makes it aesthetically pleasing. It was not overly heavy to lift into place. The weight of the individual pieces that can be removed are perfect in displaying their durability as is the total weight. Epson did not use cheap or flimsy materials in their craftsmanship. Petty impressive...and I had not even set it up and tried it out yet.
Included is the instructions, CD for setup, power cable, a couple addendum sheets (One referencing the correct ink name and another showing what to do with the plastic ink cartridge protectors) 2 High Capacity Black Cartridge Packs and 3 High Capacity Cartridge Packs each of Cyan, Magenta & Yellow Whoa! You will be able to do a ton of printing right out the box. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow along with. Installing the software is a cinch. I had one momentary lapse when I was at the step dealing with loading the cartridges. However, one of the addendum sheets explains that...just toss them out. The ink cartridge packs are very nice looking and individually sealed and boxed. It just took me a few shakes to prime the pack and they easily snap into place in the plastic case that pops out of the printer. Push the plastic case back in and repeat the process with the other colors. Piece of cake. Just follow the listed instructions.
The printer then primes the inks and gets it ready to roll. I followed the onscreen prompts to get the wireless setup. I have never used an automatic wireless setup on a printer, but I tried it this time. It worked the first time. Most printers I have worked with are not this easy to setup. It is a fight to get them connected and printing. This Epson printer is incredible! With the ease of this success, I decided to try setting up a feature that I have even been less successful at setting up in the past. Mobile (Cellphone / Tablet) printing. I downloaded two apps. The first was Epson Print Enabler and the Second was Epson iPrint. Epson iPrint is the actual app that is used for printing. Super Easy! It instantly found my printer and I finished up doing the general setup options.
Being I just finished setting up the app, I figured I would test that out to print first. I chose a high quality photo, selected the appropriate size and loaded photo paper in the rear feed. Clicked print and it sent the info to the printer and printed an amazing looking picture in no time. I tested a few documents and some more pictures and it worked perfect each time. As I have continued to use mobile printing, it has worked 100% of the time and the prints look fantastic. Yay! I can finally print from my phone and tablet. As for my computer, it achieved the same level of success each and every time. As I continued to use this in my office, it was also flawless each time. From printing B&W and color manuals, making copies, printing pictures, etc. it worked amazingly well. The speed of the printing was very good and all the prints were absolutely gorgeous. The ink is ultra-bright and professional presentation quality. The machine holds a lot of paper, which will cut down on having to continually reload it.
All in all, I absolutely recommend this printer for all your business/personal needs. It will not disappoint in quality, speed, ease of use, etc...put it this way, this is the printer of the future and it has made my life so much easier. If I had to nitpick anything about this printer it would be that it could be a little quieter. However, I really do not notice it most of the time at my workplace with the music, talking and general background noise.

WOW....amazing printer and works great!!
I personally own 3 Franchises and we do a lot of printing and I mean a lot!! Problem is most of the standard printers I would get would be slow, and I would burn through ink which gets expensive. So I got this Epson ET-8700 to try. This printer is an absolute beast of a printer. The size is great considering what It has to offer and for being a business class printer. Setup was an absolute snap and I was out of the box, setup, Wi-Fi configured and paper and ink loaded all under 15 minutes. The printer can hold over 250 sheets of paper and now lets talk about the best part the ink!! These printers can save you a ton of money on ink costs against standard printers. Inside the box its comes with 2 years of ink…let me say that again 2 years of ink which is amazing. According to the box that can equate to almost 16,000 pages to print. This was a huge selling point for me as we print multiple times a day. The Epson ET-8700 is fast as well and I was blown away at how quick it prints out the pages. The prints are clear, and the color is vivid. I setup the printer to work locally, and configured by wi-fi which is great for us when printing from other computers in the office, cell phones, iPad, or tablets. Also as a crystal clear 4.3 inch touch screen which helps make it easy to select what you want to do. This Epson ET-8700 is also great at scans and documents feed through the feeder. I have tried a lot of printers over my time but this Epson ET-8700 wins hands down its by far the best printer I have owned. Its well worth the investment especially for a business that does lots of printing and wants to save on ink costs!! Your investment will go far with this printer. I am a firm believer in you get what you paid for , and this printer is no exception.

Awesome
For the past 5 years we have been using a Brother Multifunction color laser printer which I thought was an very nice machine. The Epson ET-8700 is in a league with the highest quality laser printer with black and white copies at 24ppm and color at the same 24 ppm with color printing of photos etc being much higher quality than a laser printer. Very impressive color reproduction.
The Epson ET-8700 is a bargain when it comes to ink, you get 2 years supply of black and one year of each of th.e 3 colors so you won't be spending a fortune on ink, The Epson ET-8700 was easy to connect to our wifi network, less than 10 minutes to up and running.
The machine takes up a corner of my desk, lt's large with a small footprint. It does weigh about 40 pounds, so you will need help to move it. The ET-8700 has a color touch screen that tilts which is convenient. There are a host of settings so you can have total control of the printer. There are 2 paper trays, one in the front which holds 250 sheets and a rear tray that holds 80 sheets so less time loading paper.
I scan a lot of documents and the quality and speed is amazing. The Epson ET-8700 is truly a workhorse for the small to medium office and I highly recommend this to anyone who wants the best.

A little pricey and overwhelming at first but surprisingly easy to use.
When I first received and unpacked the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer, I was a little overwhelmed with the amount of packaging. There was cardboard, plastic and little strips of blue tape everywhere and the box itself was about half the size of a refrigerator box. But after all of the unpacking, unwrapping and cleanup of a small mountain of packaging-trash, setting up the printer was rather simple. I just plugged it in, turned it on and installed the ink cartridges (or bags) into each of the ink trays. Connecting to my Wifi was simple with the on-screen menu and registering the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer with Google's Cloud Print Service was easy with the included instructions. After tossing in a stack of two different sizes of paper, I was quickly printing emails, websites and photos from my Chromebook and even from my phone with very little effort or setup required.
I haven't even begun to explore all of the functions that this "All-in-One Printer" offers. I'm just a cell phone user and don't have a home phone line so I skipped over the fax functions completely but it looked sufficient for any small (or medium) business office environment. The scanner and copy functions are just like having your own little Xerox machine and I was really impressed with the speed at which it cranks out color copies. I am also impressed with the size and flexibility of the bypass try as it looks like you can cram virtually any size paper in there. I threw some photo paper in and was able to print some pretty nice 4X6 photos right from my phone. All-in-all it seems to be a pretty solid all-in-one printer for any home or small business environment and I'm looking forward to using it more over the next several weeks.
Oh and by the way, this is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Great Work from Home Printer
It’s been a few months since my last printer review so Epson sent over the new Workforce Pro ET-8700 for me to review. This printer is a very similar to the Workforce 7710 but comes in a smaller form factor. Still the same bells and whistles with Color Printing, Scanning, Faxing and phot printing just in a nice boxy form factor. This printer seems like a great fit for smaller spaces where you need an all in one but don’t want to take up a whole desk. This is tall and boxy.
Set up is a breeze. Took a whole 5 minutes. The hardest part is tearing all the blue tape from it. They locked the printer down in every possible way with the tape to prevent any movement during shipping. The ink system is very different from anything I have seen prior though. these are like big ketchup packets that you put in drawers on the bottom of the printer. They are said to have about an 11,000 color page print count per set. The printer I received had 2 complete sets. This would most likely be more than enough for a years worth of printing for most home office.Initializing the system took a while but once it was ready, the remaining set up was super simple. Like the prior Epson printers I have reviewed, this one has a nice clear bright touchscreen on the front for set up. I chose to set up the system using Wifi but there was a connection for a hardwire if that was something you wanted to use.One of my favorite tests is to immediately print something from my iPhone. This is how I am going to be printing photos 90% of the time. Straight from the phone. Like all of the recent Epson printers, this one worked PERFECTLY!You can see the normal print wizard pop right up in IOS and the printer is found automagically and the print came out wonderfully. This was on normal printer paper but I am sure it would have been even nicer on glossy photo print paper. The whole print took just a few seconds to pop out. Super easy, quiet and good quality.I’ve been printing normal business documents with it throughout the day and it’s fast and efficient. For my home office with moderate printing requirements, this is more than enough printer for me. The longevity of the printer ink will be something I will watch for but all in all, no issues at all with this printer from set up to printing.

Great Home Office Workhorse
I am a big fan of Epson printers and I was looking to replace/upgrade my existing Epson WF-2760 for my home office, and the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer is the ideal home office machine.
As far as the machine itself, I am not going to lie, it is BIG. For me, I don’t have a true dedicated home office and it was too big to put on my desk so it sits on the floor next to my desk. It’s not a big deal and the fact that the touch screen flips up makes it easy to operate the controls without having to get on your hands and knees. Also, the features that come with the bigger size more than compensate for it.
Set up was extremely easy. I would say that it took about 40 minutes with 30 of it spend unboxing, removing all the packaging and disposing of the trash. The actual installation itself probably took about 7-10 minutes max. The directions were extremely easy to follow and I was able to set it up wirelessly without having to use the included cd.
The main selling point for me is the 2 year supply of ink that it comes with. With my old Epson I was constantly having to change the inks which was extremely expensive and I always needed to have extra ink on hand just in case. With the two year supply of ink, the printer virtually pays for itself in ink savings alone. I also love the high capacity paper tray and the ability to print 2 sided documents. The printer is extremely quiet and very fast. The output is very high quality.
Overall, I highly recommend the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer as a home office workhorse. As a high volume document printer, this fits all my needs! This is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Solid All-in-One
I received and set up my Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One printer about a week ago and have have been using it in my home office ever since. It replaced an Epson ET-3600 that I had been using for the past couple years. I had always used HP printers in my home office prior to these printers but had been having a lot of issues with them not lasting, having expensive ink and not really working when printing from my iPad and iPhone. The Epson printers have had none of these issues. I really am liking the ET-8700 compared to the 3600. The printer was extremely easy to set up – basically just take it out of the box, remove some tape, insert the ink and it is good to go. I really liked the change in ink from the squirt bottles on the 3600 to the bags on the ET-8700. It was much cleaner and easier to use. It was also great that it came with spare ink so I am not needing to go out and purchase replacements. This way I will order replacements when I use the included ones and always have a backup. Once it was physically set up, I ran the included setup disk first on my windows PC and then downloaded and ran the Mac installer on my Macbook – it connected to my network right away and I was using it on both devices in minutes. I love the automatic document feeder – this is a feature that I was sorely missing on my old printer. I also like how much paper it holds. This printer also has fax capability, which I only use a few times a year personally but it is something that my IT Consulting clients sometimes need and because of this I will be able to recommend this printer to them as well. This has been a solid printer and it has been working extremely well since I set it up.

Great printer, but the ink may not last as long as claimed
This is a review for the Epson WorkForce Pro ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One inkjet printer.
Summary
With the exception of the ink usage problem, this is a GREAT device. Fast, easy, quiet, with a great feature set. Without the ink usage I’d have rated this 5/5.
Pros: Great performance on both print and scan, dual paper feeds, easy (clean!) setup
Cons: It’s heavy enough that they recommend using two people to carry it, needed updates for auto paper selection to work correctly, the supplied ink may last closer to two months rather than two years!
Setup
Setup was pretty straightforward, there is a LOT of tape that was used to secure it during shipping that needs to be removed, just make sure you open every compartment to get it all. Filling the ink reservoirs on EcoTank style printers always makes me a little nervous about spillage but this was as near foolproof as I can imagine. No bottles to open at all, each color came in a separate, sealed bag, keyed so that it can only go in the drawer it is supposed to. The only hiccup I had was that the trays the bags go into had inserts in them that looked like they needed to stay, but in fact were for shipping only and can be discarded. I could find any reference to them in the docs which had me worried until I realized there’s simply no way the ink bags and these inserts can coexist in the trays and discarded them. Wifi setup from the touch screen was straightforward, as was cloud print.
Printing
The main paper is a good size and took about half a ream of paper. I loaded up the second feeder with glossy paper and tried to use the auto paper selection, but it just wouldn’t work. After updating the printer firmware and drivers everything worked seamlessly from then on. Printing in both color and b/w was impressively quick, easily the quickest inkjet I’ve ever used, much faster than most small office laser jets I’ve used in the past. One initially frustrating thing I found was that duplex printing isn’t available on some paper types. I’d select 2-sided, change the paper to Glossy, hit print and it would print single sided. After wasting a few sheets trying to figure it out I noticed that when I selected Glossy it reset duplex printing to 1-sided, and 2-sided was no longer an option. Something in the docs, a warning on the PC or printer before creating two sheets of recycling would be nice.
The one issue I ran into, and it’s a big one, is that the “ink low” warning came on (for two different colors) after printing just 127 pages! 30-40 of these pages were full color, full page, on glossy paper, but even so, this has me very worried about the “2 years of ink in the box claim”! The printer came with three bags of each color so that’s one third of the ink gone already. I’ve reported this to Epson but have yet to hear back.
Scanning
While not quite as printing, scanning was quick and the document feeder that allowed double-sided scanning was a God send! No more standing over the printer while it slowly scans one side just to re-feed the sheet to get the other side scanned – wahoo! I primarily used the “Scan to cloud” feature and received a PDF in my inbox soon after the scan completed.

One Beast of a Printer
This is one heavy printer BUT that isn’t a bad thing! As this thing does everything. I can scan, copy & print. It has a paper tray that holds a large amount of paper and a top feeder that can be used when you need to print on a different size paper. You can also scan directly on the glass or via a top feed as well. Printing in general is very fast, especially text only prints. I have set mine to quiet mode which does slow it down some but does make a difference with printing noise.
The printer itself was very easy to setup up and get running. The fabulous touch screen played a major part in getting it set up quickly. Wifi was super easy to get connected. In the week or so that I have had the printer we have printed from my Macbook, a PC, iPhones and iPads all with no issues. And the ink levels have barely moved thanks to the giant capri sun looking ink bags!
I am in love with this printer so far and highly recommend it to anyone that needs a heavier duty style printer.

Powerhouse for less
The Epson ET-8700 is a powerhouse all around.
Working my way from the outside inwards:
The All in One unit is not small, but for what it can do it’s size is just right.
The machine has 2 paper trays. Eco Ink meaning the ink will last you quite a while longer.
The large display screen allows for easy and very visible navigation through the menu for settings and adjustments. The large buttons on the center make it easy to get to where you need to go as well as the larger “fax” number keys on the front right are perfect size to make sure you are pressing the intended button.
The Printer functionality is as expected and better. The auto duplex printing feature is something to be careful with. Once you have it, you will never want a printer that does not have this feature. Amazing and what a time saver. It printers the document out and pulls it back in for reverse side printing. No more turning manually. It prints documents and pictures lighting fast. The network functionality of this printer is wonderful. The software allowed me to find the printer right away. No hassle. The entire unit was setup in less than 7 min (Including unboxing).
The Scanner factuality is again something you would not normally have. Auto Duplex scanning.
Again what a productive and time saving feature. Networking scanning to email or file server is easily setup. I used the Web gui since I was familiar with Epson’s interface before.
Faxing with this machine is a dream.
You can add contacts via either the front panel or the software or the web interface.
I used the fax function through the computer (print to fax). Very nice and works great.
After Installing the software and drivers the USB port on the printer will be mounted on your computer (also if used via Network mode). This means once you plug in a USB stick into the printer you can edit / view the files on your computer. Very handy for last second edits.
A final suggestion for the second tray (the one in the back) I use it for envelops which help again with timing since I do not have to get up and change the paper to envelope I can simply select tray 2 and printer my addresses on the envelope without even getting up.
This unit really does everything an expensive office printer would do however for less cost of one and also no expensive maintenance / support group. I recommend this printer for home and small to medium business use.
Future feature I would like to see is a toner / laser version of this unit.

Workhorse of a printer
Initially I was reluctant to use this printer because I have always been a fan of HP printers but I think Epson has stepped it up with their Eco-Tank printers. Moving away from disposable ink cartridges is a huge reason that I was ecstatic to try out this printer.
The size of the box and the printer may intimidate you at first but then this printer is for a midsize office rather than a one-person home office. Regardless of the size, the initial printer set up is a piece of cake but be sure to remove all the packaging material including the tape before you turn it on.
With it's ability to hold multiple paper formats, the priniting is quick and crisp without any smudged ink. For copying and scanning, the document feeder works like a charm. You can also place the document directly on the flatbed for scan or copy. This is a workhorse of a printer that is suitable for medium sized office or if you do a great amount of printing or scanning, for your home office.
It can also fax, though who in these days of email uses fax?
Note that you will need to buy your USB cable if you choose to hook it up directly to your computer and a telephone cable if you want to use the fax.
The printer comes with 2 years worth of ink with a much larger bottle and tank for the basic black ink. I think this is very helpful for a small to a medium office where the print ratio is skewed towards documents then pictures. The printer also comes with a separate tank an ink for a special photo black ink. This makes for much more vibrant pictures and I think its a great new feature that they are able to do with the Eco-Tank printer.

Perfect for our Office!
The first thing I noticed is how heavy this printer is and was a bit shocked. Seeing what it is capable of and how many things I can do in my small office, it is worth the extra few muscles used to move it around.
In the week we have used this, we have printed about 700 pages of text documents and images, sent and received a few faxes and scanned a few documents for an OCR application. First, I want to explain the setup. It was simple. It prompted me through each step, joined our wireless network on the first try (it is only compatible with a 2.4 Ghz network) and easily let me set the IP address to what I wanted. I didn’t configure the Epson Cloud Connect or Google Cloud Print features available. The ink installation was super easy, as well. I’ve used the earlier version of the tanks of individual colors, but this is far neater and less of a chance of it “spilling” all over. It is just as easy as changing the toner on a laser printer.
The text printing was faster than I expected. I set it to a quiet mode and it slowed down a little bit. For our use, the quality was great. I tossed a few envelopes in the manual feeder in the back. It is so much better than the standard manual feeder in the front of other printers. The graphics we printed looked sharp. We ended up setting the driver setting on the Mac to high quality and it was great.
We were able to print from Windows workstations, Mac laptops, iPhones/iPads and a couple Android phones too.
Lastly, the display on the front of the printer. Super easy to use, can be customized to have the functions you need and is bright enough in the bright office room. It is very intuitive and easy to navigate.
What I don’t care for on this printer is the lack of a web interface for scanning. The scanning is great, but I’d like to have a web interface. Unlike other all-in-one printers, I’ll take the document feeder for scanning multiple pages over the web interface any day.

Home office wizard, one device for everything!
This is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I've spent a week putting this thing through the wringer. It's been nothing short of stellar. I am mostly impressed by the speed of printing, followed closely by the ink capacity and also the paper capacity. You can load half a ream up front, and 50 pages in the rear. The automatic double-sided printing is flawless, pictures print with robust color, and I have yet to jam a paper or have a software hang-up.
All that being said, the main downfall (if you want to call it that) is that the software is a tad difficult to use for the novice user, which I am not, so I figured it out pretty easily. The scanner is quick and accurate, from docs to pics it does the job right every time. I will use this printer in my home office from now on! It's amazing and eco-friendly!

Great printer with lots of ink and paper capacity
I have used Epson Workforce Pro ET-8700 for almost a week now. My first impression of the printer has been really great. This printer is geared towards an office environment. The printer is cartridge free and comes with 2 years of ink in the box.
Setup:
Setting up the printer was a breeze. Initial set up required turning on the printer, installing the included ink packs and charging ink. The step that takes the longest time. I set up the printer to connect to the wireless network. The printer showed up on my Macbook air and I was able to add it without any issues. Everything worked flawlessly.
Printing:
Printing is extremely fast. I tried both text and full-page color photo, I was really impressed with the quality and speed of printing. I also have a laser printer, and the printing is faster than that. What makes me most happy about printing from the Epson printer is that the printer supports multiple options to connect, like Airprint for iPhone, Google Cloud print and NFC for Android device. I used the printer with my iPhone, I didn't have to download an app or do any setup. Once the printer was on my wireless network from the original setup, my phone saw it, and with just three taps it was printing.
Scanning:
The speed and quality of scan is great as well. I was able to scan page wirelessly without hiccups.
The other features that I like about the printer are:
1.) it has two cassettes to hold tons of paper and different types of paper.
2.) The touch screen interface, it is very responsive and easy to use.
3.) Auto document feeder is great for a big job.
4.) The ability to print from an external USB device directly
5.) The Epson workforce pro all in one also has fax and copier functionality.
With all the features, I can see this printer serving the needs of a home office or a small business. I am very satisfied with the product.

Awesome touch screen!
Loving this printer so far. This thing is a beast. When I first picked up the large 54lb box, I knew this wasn't your average printer. This is NOT a cheap lightweight home printer. It's a true office multi-function office printer.
Unboxing was simple. Opening the box, you are presented with 11 boxes of ink. 2 large Black, 3 Cyan, 3 Magenta, and 3 Yellow. I was a little thrown off my the number of ink packs. I was expecting "tanks" of ink due to the name. After getting all the ink boxes out of the way, you lift the printer out of the box using the handles built into the plastic wrapping. Once the plastic wrap is removed there are bunch of pieces of tape to remove. The printer is 99% assembled. All I had to do was attach the paper tray on the front, and install the ink cartridges.
I should note I set it up, and primarily use it with our Macs. The setup on the Mac was easy. I downloaded the most recent software from Epson's website instead of using the included CD.
My favorite feature so far is the touch screen. It's big and responsive. It made things like setting up wifi super easy. My old LaserJet took forever to set up networking. Using the touchscreen on the front of the ET-8700, it was set up within seconds. Speaking of wifi, Apple Airprint works wonderfully. Printing from ipads and iphones have been super simple
Printing is fast too. Again, much faster than my old LaserJet.
The only think I was a little disappointed by was photo printing quality. Granted, this is an office printer and not designed to print photos. It'd just be nice to not need a separate printer for photos.
I've had a lot of printers over the last 20 years. The Epson's have always been my favorite. They've always been reliable, and the ink is relatively reasonably priced.

Fast & Functional. Great printer!
“This is a review for the Epson ET-8700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”
I am really impressed with this printer. It was very easy to set up using the wizard once you get all the tape off. Seriously, there is a lot of tape. The wizard walks you through everything from page setup to fax header. The ink takes some getting use to since it is in pouches instead of cartridges.
My first reaction after a print was literally, "Wow. That was fast." I mean it was done before I could even turn around to get the page. Seriously, I have never had a printer that prints this fast.
I have alreay used it for b&w prints, color prints and multiple faxes. And for the first time I have scanned to email, which never worked on my past AIO. I like that it has its own email address to so I could send something to the machine from anywhere in the world.
The only problem I have had is the first few pages came out crooked, but that has seemed to resolve itself. The web interface and software are not as clean I I would expect them to be, but you can still navigate pretty easily and the funtionality is there.
Overall this is a very funtional and comprehensive printer/fax/scanner/copier. I would definitely recommend it for a small office or home use. I'm sure I will use it for years to come.

Excellent printer, especially for small business!
The Epson WorkForce Pro ET-8700 printer is replacing an old printer we have used for our small business for the last year: an HP OfficeJet. It was simple calculation to see how much money we have spent on ink cartridges with the HP in one year that this Epson printer can save us; a whopping $750.00!
Enter the Epson WorkForce Pro ET-8700 Eco-Tank printer. The main selling point for us is the massive ink quantity and the pro quality of the prints. This printer comes with 4 high capacity bags of ink liquid ink which can print upto 16,000 pages black and 11,000 pages color with the cartridges that are included! This alone will save us atleast $2,000+ in ink cost for the life of the printer.
We installed it on our wireless network and the installation (and registration) was easy, guided by the enclosed CD. Super simple and painless. This printer is QUIET and FAST with excellent, professional print quality, and we love that the front tray can handle 250 sheets of plain paper (far more than our old printer). Yes, I know - it's brand new and it should be great - which is exactly why I will return with an update over time. This is a redesign by Epson and the footprint is smaller than the old EcoTank printer, making it another win!
Bottom line: If you're doing a lot of printing or have a small business and seem to be constantly replacing cartridges, do yourself a favor and add up what you've been spending on ink - this, or another Epson EcoTank printer model may be exactly what you need. Great small office printer
The Epson WorkForce Pro ET-8700 is fast, compact, has many features that a car dealership needs including scan, fax, print, duplex printing, wireless printing, mobile phone & tablet compatible and last but most important to me it comes with enough ink to print 10,000 pages! Simply brilliant.
It needs to be stated that if I were to buy ink cartridges for a standard office printer to print the estimated 10,000 pages that the ET8700 can print out of the box it would easily cost $1000 for the extra ink. Epson provides the small office owner a HUGE savings with this printer!
Thank you Epson, this is a product long overdue.
